Cape May Café Breakfast at Disney World – 5 Things You Need to Know

If you need an excuse to dine at Cape May Café for breakfast at Disney’s Beach Club Resort, just remember that breakfast is the most important meal of the day! Chances are, once you’ve gotten your morning fill of the delicious food and exciting atmosphere at Cape May Café, you’ll be ready to set out for an adventurous day. Here are our top five things we feel you should know before making breakfast plans elsewhere!

1 – Perfect Resort Location

Row your crew on over to Disney’s Beach Club Resort, where you will find nestled just steps from the resort lobby, Cape May Café. You’ll spot the simple beach umbrella “Cape May Café” sign and the open layout with the hall decorated with beach umbrellas that wrap around the restaurant. One of the best things about Cape May Café is that you don’t have to be a Beach Club Resort guest or any Disney Resort guest to enjoy a meal at Cape May.

2 – Eastern Seaboard-Style Beach Theme

One foot into Cape May Café, you’ll feel like you’ve washed ashore with the beautiful eastern seaboard-style beach theme reminiscent of a time when a trip to the shore was a summer tradition. The restaurant is bright, open, and airy, with cool beach colors and white woodwork that gels together wonderfully. Several booths and tables line the restaurant. Unlike some other breakfast restaurants we’ve dined at, Cape May Cafe has never felt crowded to us even with all the tables full.

3 – A Bountiful Breakfast

Cape May Café’s breakfast will prepare you to spend an adventurous day in the sun! This is an all-you-care-to-eat breakfast buffet for one set price with what seems like endless tasty selections. Once your hostess seats you, a server will come by and take your drink order. Drinks include all the typical breakfast juices, white or chocolate milk, coffee, tea, and fountain drinks. Once your drink order is in head to the buffet. The buffet is a large square set in the center of the restaurant. You’ll find some duplicates as you go around, which we love because that leaves two areas to snag your favorites if one side is full. An easy way to break down the buffet is by the cold offerings, warm offerings, and yummy bakery goodies! The breakfast buffet offerings include: salted caramel “Beach Buns,” a selection of fruits, oatmeal and grits, waffles and French toast, cheddar biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, bacon, and sausage, and omelet and carving stations. No worries if you can’t fit everything on your plate – no one is counting how many times you go back for more!

4 – Minnie’s Beach Bash

Minnie is hanging out at Cape May Café and brought a couple of her best buddies along for the beach party. While they never guarantee which characters will be present for breakfast, each time we’ve visited, it has been Minnie, Goofy, Donald, and Daisy. We absolutely love these three characters and the fun they bring to Cape May Café! Guests can stay in their seats as these three characters stroll around greeting each table. Have those autograph books and cameras ready to capture the special moments. Our favorite part about this character breakfast is the way the characters dress! They are all dressed up for a day at the beach. These four are fantastic and do a great job of making everyone feel like they’ve joined the beach bash fun.

5 – A Tip or Two

While Cape May Café’s reservations don’t go as quickly as Chef Mickey’s, you will still want to book your reservations 60 days in advance. This way, you can be sure you will receive the day and time you prefer! We also recommend, while you are at the Beach Club Resort, check out the resort and the surrounding resorts if time allows. It really is a beautiful area! Lastly, since Cape May Café doesn’t require a park ticket, it is a fantastic place to dine on what we call our “resort days.” We’ll eat our fill for breakfast, explore the area, then head back to our resort for some swim time. We hope you have as great of an experience as we’ve had at Cape May Café!
