1900 Park Fare Reopened! – Our Review and What You Need to Know

The iconic 1900 Park Fare restaurant has reopened its doors once again at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. The restaurant has a refreshed look, delicious dishes, and beloved characters who celebrate the power of wishes. We recently had a chance to dine at the updated restaurant. Learn what we thought at the link below.

1 – 1900 Park Fare

1900 Park Fare is located at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa near Magic Kingdom. After being closed for over four years, the restaurant reopened in early April 2024 with an updated menu and new characters. Whether or not you are a resort guest at the Grand Floridian, all are welcome to dine at 1900 Park Fare! If you are visiting by car, simply make a reservation in advance, and the Cast Member at the gate will welcome you to park. You can also arrive by Disney bus or the monorail. Explore the impressive Grand Floridian lobby, where you will make a left from the lobby’s main entrance to enter 1900 Park Fare.

2 – An Updated Look

Once inside the restaurant, you’ll find a new look that pays homage to the late Victorian period. The art is reminiscent of that period, with carousel theming woven throughout the decor. There are paintings of various Disney characters who are making a wish. The theme of wish-making is certainly carried through the decor.

3 – New Characters to Dine With

1900 Park Fare offered different characters at breakfast and dinner in the past. However, now guests can look forward to meeting the same characters at any mealtime. When dining, you can expect to be greeted by four different characters who celebrate the power of wishes. Guests will find Tiana in an all-new adventure outfit that matches the upcoming Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Diners will also greet Mirabel and Cinderella. Finally, rounding out the characters is Aladdin in his princely finest. It’s always great where there are princes available to greet and we’re really happy to see Aladdin added to the lineup here.

Do note that while you can pretty much count on these four characters to appear, Disney states they are not guaranteed. For example, recently, guests greeted Snow White instead of Cinderella. So, just be aware and prepare young children for possible changes.

We thoroughly enjoyed our interactions with the characters. It’s amazing how wonderful and engaging they were with guests. All the characters were very encouraging and helpful in giving us pointers in regards to our own wish. A highlight of the evening was seeing Aladdin meet with some young children at a nearby table. He got down so he could talk to them at their level, and it was just so adorable to see their interaction!

4 – Updated Menu

The menu has also been updated. For morning meals, guests can look forward to a scrumptious array of dishes, including Beef and Potato Hash, Cinnamon Pull-apart Bread, Classic Eggs Benedict, Cheesy Potato Casserole, and so much more. Timeless dishes, like the famous Strawberry Soup, will return for both breakfast and dinner service. At dinner, enjoy Tiana’s Gumbo with Spicy Andouille Sausage, Peel-n-Eat Shrimp, Porchetta with Hunter’s Sauce, and myriad other delectable dishes. Our favorite dish was Tiana’ Gumbo. It was fabulous! There were plenty of options, including kid-friendly choices. The strawberry soup was certainly a special treat!

5 – Pricing

Breakfast at 1900 Park Fare is $54 for adults and $34 for children. The dinner price is $66 for adults and $41 for children. This price is on par with other character dining meals. For example, 1900 Park Fare is priced the same as Chef Micke’s at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. Story Book Dining at Artist’s Point at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is $65 per adult and $39 per child. Character dining is expensive at Walt Disney World, and we feel the pricing for these buffets is rather high. We often feel that we are not quite getting our money’s worth of food. We have to remember that we are also paying for the experience along with the quality of the food and the unique characters. So, overall, when considering this meal as part of a Walt Disney World vacation, it is definitely worth the higher price.

6 – Overall Thoughts and Recommendations

We really enjoyed our dinner at 1900 Park Fare. It was delightful to be back at Disney’s Grand Floridian for dinner. We loved how the theming of wish granting was carried throughout the decor and the characters. We must admit that when we first heard of the grouping of the characters, it seemed rather random, but with the main theme of “wishes,” it makes perfect sense! We had the ability to write down our own wishes (with the characters’ signatures on the back of the card), and then there was a special wish ceremony during dinner that was really fun. The dinner at 1900 Park Fare had a wonderful atmosphere, delicious food, and friendly characters and staff. We had a fabulous evening!

Reservations for 1900 Park Fare are currently open on the My Disney Experience app and DisneyWorld.com.
