7 Things to Know about Narcoossee’s at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort

Narcoossee’s is a fantastic restaurant at Walt Disney World. It is a great restaurant for a date night, special occasion or even a nice night out with the family. If you are contemplating dining here on your next trip, then you should definitely read these seven great things to know about Narcoossee’s:

7 – It is a Disney Signature Restaurant.

Narcoossee’s is one of Disney’s Signature restaurants. This means that the restaurant is a bit higher-end, and you can also expect higher prices. If you are on the Disney Dining Plan, the meal will cost two table-service entitlements per person instead of the usual one entitlement required for a meal. It is well worth it and a delicious culinary experience, but it is good to know going into the experience to ensure you have budgeted for it.

6 – There is a dress code for the restaurant.

This is definitely important to remember. This isn’t a restaurant that guests will show up in flip-flops and t-shirts to. Typically, men wear dress pants or shorts with a polo or button-up style shirt. Women will usually also wear dressier clothes, like a blouse and dress pants or a skirt. It adds to the ambiance and theme of the restaurant and makes it feel more like a special evening.

5 – The location is amazing.

The restaurant is located at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort right on the water overlooking the Seven Seas Lagoon. The location offers views of the Magic Kingdom, the lagoon activities, and the other resorts that are located on the lagoon. The stroll to the restaurant and around the grounds of the Grand Floridian is beautiful, so I highly recommend a before or after-dinner walk to explore.

4 – You can view Magic Kingdom fireworks and the Electrical Water Pageant from the restaurant.

Since the restaurant is right on the water, it puts it in the perfect location to see these fantastic nighttime shows. You can see the Magic Kingdom fireworks show from the restaurant or the deck around the restaurant. Not only that, the music for the show is piped in so that you can get the full effect of the show without standing in the middle of the crowds at the park. The Electrical Water Pageant is a series of boats with lights that move through the lagoon and form various animals, American flags, etc. It is a classic attraction that has been around a long time and one that is awesome to see while you dine.

3 – Old Favorites and New Menu Offerings

The chefs at this location are among the best on property. They are continually reviewing the menu and making seasonal changes to provide selections that enhance and fit the season. I love getting a little bit of variation each time we dine there. The restaurant recently reopened after a refurbishment, and it now offers new menu items. The menu has something for everyone, from sustainably sourced seafood to inventive fare from the land, including meat- and plant-based options.

New dishes to experience include:

    • Ocean-Inspired Charcuterie Board: An innovative take on a classic presentation, the board consists of ahi tuna pastrami, charred octopus and house-made sausage from the sea.
    • Beef and Ricotta Tortelloni: The rich combination of beef and creamy ricotta cheese is complemented by brown butter, silky parsnip puree and sultana raisins.
    • Roasted Vegetable Paella: Featuring market vegetables, cannellini beans, preserved artichoke and charred Meyer lemon, this luxurious plant-based offering is satisfying and flavorful.
    • Blackened Redfish: Chef Noah’s signature dish, a delectable filet of redfish is rubbed with Narcoossee’s secret blackening blend and served atop a crispy chorizo-sunchoke hash with hominy and Florida sweet corn before it’s finished with a drizzle of red pepper rouille.

Returning dishes that celebrate the heritage of Narcoossee’s include:

    • Bisque: Long a guest favorite, this classic dish returns with a new tableside presentation to delight diners.
    • Plancha-Seared Scallops with Parisian Gnocchi: Tuck into this indulgent combination that’s served with English peas, tasso ham and truffled Meyer lemon cream.
    • Twelve-ounce Prime New York Strip Steak: Featuring Narcoossee’s famed New York strip steak, the main dish is perfectly paired with potato mash, roasted rainbow vegetables, and a decadent red wine demi- glace.

2 – Cheers to Craft Cocktails and Curated Wines

Victorian-inspired cocktails and zero-proof beverages offer the perfect pairing for the dining experience, taking inspiration from tipples popular during the late nineteenth century. Proprietor Matt Cristi and his sommeliers have also carefully curated the restaurant’s wine list to offer notable varietal diversity and ensure that wines complement the dishes flawlessly.

1 – You can see some of the action in the kitchen.

Part of the kitchen is visible and part of the show for the guests. You can see some of the chefs at work preparing delicious food items. You will get a sneak peek at some of the items, which could either help or hurt when it comes to trying to make up your mind as to what to order. If you are interested in cooking and culinary shows, you will love seeing some of the food preparation while you dine.

Kristin

Hi! I’m Kristin, and I am a wife and mother of 2 young boys (ages 5 and 2). I first fell in love with Disney when my mom took me when I was a child. After that I proceeded to go to WDW for my senior trip with my friends, and I completed a year in the Disney College Program (working in merchandise at Mickey’s of Hollywood at Disney’s Hollywood Studios). I shared my love of Disney with my now husband and sucked him in. We vacationed at Walt Disney World 2-3 times per year. We decided that what maked more sense was just moving to Orlando so that we could live the Disney life and be here for all of our favorite events and seasons every year. That is exactly what we did! Now we are at the parks a couple times a week and go for most events and major holidays. We can’t get enough and get to experience Disney in a whole different way.
