8 Things You Need to Know About Restaurant Marrakesh at Epcot

Restaurant Marrakesh is one of the most unique restaurants at Walt Disney World. You won’t find another place exactly like this one on property, which already makes it a must-visit location.  If you plan to add this one to your itinerary, then here are 8 things you definitely need to know about Restaurant Marrakesh:

8 – Where to find the restaurant.

The restaurant is located at the Morocco pavilion in the World Showcase at Epcot.  You have to really go into the pavilion to find this one. You have to walk to the back of the pavilion and then you should find the entrance.  It isn’t as easily visible from the main walkway through the pavilion. You will want to explore this pavilion anyway since it is so beautiful.

7 – The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner services.

There are no breakfast options at this restaurant, only lunch, and dinner.  There are no major differences between the lunch and dinner menus at the restaurant.  There are a few little changes, but nothing that would drastically impact the dining options available at either service.

6 – Make a reservation if you are able to.

We always recommend making an Advanced Dining Reservation wherever you can.  This will always help to reduce the amount of time that you will spend waiting to be seated and guaranteed that you get in.  The reservation also helps you to plan the experience into your day as well.  Since this is a very unique restaurant this makes it more popular, so the reservation is especially handy.

5 – Disney Dining Plans are accepted (as well as some discounts).

If you have a Disney Dining Plan that includes table service entitlements, then you will be able to use your dining plan at the restaurant.  It will cost 1 table service entitlement for the meal.  The cast members will advise you on what is included with your dining plan to help in making your selections.  If you are an Annual Passholder, DVC member or Tables in Wonderland member you receive discounts at this location.  The amount varies depending on the season and which of these you have.  You will need to be prepared to provide proof as well as a photo ID.

4 – The restaurant is extremely “special diet” friendly.

If you have special dietary needs, this restaurant is especially accommodating.  Since the meals are made fresh, they can easily leave off certain ingredients to tailor them to meet guest needs.  For guests that don’t eat meat and/or eggs, there are already several great items on the menu that are perfect for those guests. Be sure to advise the cast member at the restaurant of any special dietary needs and they will ensure that you are well versed on the options that will work for you.

3 – The entertainment is unlike anything else at Walt Disney World.

The musical performances at the restaurant are amazing.  The music is so lively and unique, that it really does feel like you have been transported to Morocco.  There is also a belly dancer that performs at the restaurant.  This is the only location in all of Walt Disney World where you will find a belly dancer, so this is definitely something new you can cross off of your list!

2 – Don’t skip drinks and desserts

OK, maybe I just like drinks and desserts, but this is definitely a great location to enjoy them at! There is a variety of amazing specialty drinks that you will love.  The Casablanca Sunset is a personal favorite of mine. There is also Moroccan beer and other beverages on the menu, too.  If dessert is more of your thing, then you have to try to the Bastilla.  The dessert consists of pastry leaves that are topped with vanilla ice cream and toasted almonds!  There is also a large portion option if you think you will want to share!

1 – The food is amazing!

If I didn’t mention this part already, the food really is amazing!  I love the meats with couscous options.  I always love the opportunity to enjoy the cuisines that I don’t get to have very often and Moroccan is definitely that for me.  I love all of the curry and other natural, fresh flavors used in the cooking.  You definitely want to give this one a try!

Kristin

Hi! I’m Kristin, and I am a wife and mother of 2 young boys (ages 5 and 2). I first fell in love with Disney when my mom took me when I was a child. After that I proceeded to go to WDW for my senior trip with my friends, and I completed a year in the Disney College Program (working in merchandise at Mickey’s of Hollywood at Disney’s Hollywood Studios). I shared my love of Disney with my now husband and sucked him in. We vacationed at Walt Disney World 2-3 times per year. We decided that what maked more sense was just moving to Orlando so that we could live the Disney life and be here for all of our favorite events and seasons every year. That is exactly what we did! Now we are at the parks a couple times a week and go for most events and major holidays. We can’t get enough and get to experience Disney in a whole different way.
