NEWS: Disney Reveals Massive Menu Changes – New Food Items Coming Soon to Walt Disney World

We love food! And we love the fact that Disney World takes food seriously. Disney World has certainly stepped up their food game in recent years by offering many unique and limited time snacks that are becoming almost as popular as the attractions. Great news, the magic makers over in the Disney kitchens are at it again. Disney has announced a slew of new food items that are coming soon. Catch all the details below.

Foodie Update for Magic Kingdom Park

There are several new items headed to Magic Kingdom. Here are all the details from Disney Cast Member Alex Dunlap:

With Mickey and Minnie’s Surprise Celebration in full swing and Mardi Gras and St. Patrick’s Day approaching, there’s a whole host of new eats and treats coming to Magic Kingdom Park. For all you Disney Parks Foodies out there, you won’t want to skip out on these offerings!

If you’re a fan of taking cute pics with character-themed treats, then you’ll be excited to learn that there are three brand-new cones coming to the park. They’ll be available starting February 24th and definitely make for a cute insta pic, if I do say so myself. The first cone is inspired by everyone’s favorite feathery sidekick – the Hei Hei Cone features a blue sugar cone topped with raspberry soft-serve, pineapple Dole Whip, sugar eyes, and sour candy. You’ll find it at Aloha Isle in Adventureland!

This next cone will have you seeing the light at Storybook Treats. The Lost Princess Cone is a purple one and comes topped with lemon soft-serve and a beautiful display of edible flowers. And the third and final cone can be found at Auntie Gravity’s Galactic Goodies and will have you flying through Tomorrowland to try it. The “Adventure is Out There” Cone is a blue sugar cone topped with mango soft-serve and a candy balloon piece.

Looking for a way to celebrate Mardi Gras? Then we’ve got just the treat for you! For a limited time, hop on over to Liberty Square Market to indulge in the Frog Prince Whoopie Pie. This cinnamon whoopie pie comes with graham cracker icing, sprinkles, and a chocolate frog.

At Casey’s Corner, hot dog-lovers will love March’s Hot Dog of the Month – Casey’s Corn Beef Hash Dog. This hot dog is a great way to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day all month long! It’s topped with crispy potatoes, corned beef, cabbage, and a Blarney sauce drizzle.

There are also a few new treats joining the party for Mickey and Minnie’s Surprise Celebration, like the Mickey and Minnie Waffle Sundae at Sleepy Hollow! This adorable delight comes with Mickey and Minnie-shaped waffles and a scoop of vanilla ice cream topped with chocolate sauce, whipped cream, sprinkles, and a cherry.

Speaking of sundaes, a couple of fun Minnie Mouse-themed sundaes will also be available at Plaza Ice Cream Parlor. The Minnie Sundae features two scoops of ice cream topped with chocolate sauce, whipped cream, strawberries, chocolate cream cookies, and a chocolate Minnie bow. The Main Street Split comes with ice-cream and a banana topped with strawberry and pineapple sauces, hot fudge, chocolate cream cookies, and a chocolate Minnie bow.

If you’re dining at either Columbia Harbour House or Tony’s Town Square Restaurant, you’ll find some delectable Mickey and Minnie Whoopie Pies. These red velvet whoopie pies come filled with cream cheese icing and are topped with chocolate decorations. And the Mickey Confetti Pretzel is coming back, too! It’s dipped in marshmallow fluff and topped with confetti sprinkles, and can be found at Tortuga Tavern.

And don’t forget, all three sundaes, the Mickey and Minnie Whoopie Pies, and the Mickey Confetti Pretzel are all available starting on March 1.

In addition to all of these yummy offerings, did you know that we now have new ice cream containers featuring our favorite pals? That’s right – you can now get your ice cream in fun Mickey and Minnie-themed cups at various locations throughout the park!

Menu Changes and More Items Coming Soon

There are more than just sweet treats coming. There are plenty of savory items to try as well. Here are all the details from Disney Cast Member Alex Dunlap:

There are plenty of delicious dishes across the Walt Disney World Resort to try, including new menu items as well as a few popular items that I just have to highlight. One of these popular items is the Lasagna-Pasticcio at Disney’s All-Star Music Resort. This incredible dinner item comes with baked layers of stracciatella, Bolognese sauce, pasta, and Béchamel sauce topped with a house-made Pomodoro sauce and is served with a fresh breadstick. You can find it at Intermission Food Court.

Another item that I want to feature is an exquisite seafood dish that can be found on the dinner menu at Narcoossee’s at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. The Pan-seared Georges Bank Day Boat Scallops are a must-try with house-made Parisian gnocchi, shiitake mushrooms, fall pumpkin, brown butter-truffle cream sauce, shaved black truffles, and fried sage.

At Disney’s Hollywood Studios, a new menu has made its way to Backlot Express. Try the classic Backlot Burger with Angus beef, barbecued pork, and pepper jack cheese or the yummy Cuban Sandwich with classically-pressed roasted pulled pork, sliced ham, swiss, pickles, and mustard. If you’re looking for some comfort food, then you definitely will want to go for the Chicken and Biscuits. These homestyle buttermilk biscuits come with crispy chicken tenders, both of which are smothered in country gravy finished with a spicy strawberry glaze and bacon crumbles. For a lighter option, the Southwest Salad is a great way to go with mixed greens, crispy wonton, black bean relish, and avocado tossed in vinaigrette dressing. You can also order it with grilled chicken breast!

For dessert, why not try a peanut butter and chocolate brownie or Key Lime Verrine with layers of key lime custard and graham cracker finished with whipped cream and a white chocolate garnish.

Also at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, ABC Commissary is now offering a brand new sweet offering, an Apple Tart. And at BaseLine Tap House, you can now order beverages in a fun new souvenir cup! With tons of beers, ciders, wines, and cocktails on tap, you can order the mug with any alcoholic beverage of your choosing, and be sure to pair it with a delicious Bavarian Pretzel or a California Cheese and Charcuterie Plate if you’re craving something savory!

Capt. Cook’s at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort recently got a new menu with an awesome new selection of dishes, including a Turkey Club Melt with roasted turkey, bacon, tomato, Havarti cheese, and sun-dried tomato mayonnaise on multigrain bread and a plant-based burger served with arugula and roasted pepper-tomato chutney on a brioche bun. On the lighter side, you can enjoy Pan Asian Noodles with vegetables and tofu, Asian-style Grilled Chicken Salad with rice noodles and mandarin oranges, or even an Iceberg Wedge with bacon, roasted tomatoes, mozzarella, blue cheese, and ciabatta bread. There’s also a Tuna Salad with mixed kale greens, avocado, Kalamata olives, tomatoes, a hard-boiled egg, and citrus dressing. However, if you’re looking for some finger food, why not try the chicken wings or a yummy flatbread? The chicken wings come tossed in your choice of Hawaiian tamarind, Korean barbecue, Parmesan black pepper, or buffalo sauce. And for flatbreads, chow down on the new Seafood Flatbread topped with shrimp, scallops, calamari, and creamy lobster tomato sauce or try the Morning Flatbread for breakfast. That one is topped with scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, and house-made sausage gravy – yum!

Round out the list this month is Banana Cabana at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. In addition to serving up an array of thirst-quenching cocktails and beverages, the pool bar is now serving up a hearty lunch menu. Appetizers include Jerk Chicken Wings, Chili Con Queso, and Loaded Sweet Potato Fries. If it’s salad you’re looking for, the Chilled Seafood Salad with conch, shrimp, and lump crab is a great option along with Sebastian’s Salad with mixed greens, avocado, red pepper, black beans, cilantro-lime vinaigrette, and the option to add grilled jerk chicken. The sandwiches are pretty great too, with options such as a Bacon Cheddar Cheeseburger, a Jerk Chicken Sandwich, a Smoked Turkey Sandwich, and even a Caribbean-style Cheesesteak. This unique take on the classic sandwich includes braised beef brisket, smoked gouda, and grilled peppers served on a Cuban roll. Kids can enjoy options such as macaroni and cheese, a cheeseburger, or a smoked turkey sandwich, all served with their choice of tortilla chips or apple slices.
