Top 7 Attractions at Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park

Where else can you experience a “Blizzard” in the heart of Florida other than at Walt Disney World?! If you’re looking for some time to cool off, plan a visit to one of Disney’s two water parks. Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon are sister water parks at Disney World. Both water parks feature attractions that aren’t the same as the other park, making them unique and easy to do both without feeling like you’re duplicating the experience. If you’re looking for an extra punch of thrills, Blizzard Beach is the water park for you! With twelve attractions and multiple other experiences, you’ll want to plan to tackle them all while enjoying the snow-capped Mount Gushmore and a blizzard theme. Here are our top seven attractions not to be missed at Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park.

7 – Tike’s Peak

Let’s start off the list with an attraction for the younger crew! It’s well worth being on our top attractions list because it’s a true children’s water playground. The area was recently updated with a Frozen theme and features multiple smaller slides, splash areas, wading pools, and even beaches with sand for sandcastles. Tike’s Peak will have your little traveler content for hours! Remember that children must be 48 inches or smaller to experience Tike’s Peak. This is one attraction your kiddo will remember for years to come.

6 – Cross Country Creek

You are on vacation after all, so take the opportunity to relax and unwind as you float along a lazy river in an inner tube. There are seven landing areas situated around the park, so go ahead and use your tube as a transportation option if needed! With 3,000 feet of water ahead, the Cross Country Creek can take up to 30 minutes to get back to your starting point. Enjoy the sights while being whisked away by the water.

5 – Toboggan Racers

Feeling competitive? The Toboggan Racers is the attraction for you! Get ready to race in this 8-lane, 250-foot downhill slope against friends and family. A mat is provided as you lay on your stomach for this head-first sleighing experience. There is no height requirement for this attraction, so bring the family! Hold on to your mat and get ready to experience the wind in your hair with a few dips along the way. Toboggan Racers is the perfect attraction for feeling like a kid again!

4 – Downhill Double Dipper

Grab a friend 48 inches or taller and check out the Downhill Double Dipper attraction. This one is double the fun, with two high-speed slides next to each other. The gates to the slides open simultaneously for that perfect “ready, set, go!” moment. Hold on tight to your innertube as you plunge down 50 feet in the enclosed slide, making it impossible to know how your competitor is doing until you reach the bottom and see who shot out first for the win!

3 – Slush and Gusher

While not the most intimidating attraction at Blizzard Beach (see #1 for that!), the Slush and Gusher attraction is not to be taken lightly! This is one of the only attractions where “air time” is achieved, as gravity and speed are in charge. Slush and Gusher is a body slide that has you dropping 90 feet down with a couple of dips along the way. When your body reaches 35 mph, it’ll feel much faster than it does driving a car! Guests must be 48 inches or taller to ride this exhilarating attraction.

 2 – Teamboat Springs

Looking for a great way to bring the family together? How about by gathering them into a massive Mickey shaped innertube! Teamboat Springs is a family favorite and one of the world’s longest group whitewater raft adventures. This is a 1,200-foot slide attraction that can send your raft of up to 6 people down the mountain and through the mild but unexpected rapids. See that waterfall ahead? Just when you think you’re the one that will get drenched, the raft will show you it has a mind of its own and turn at the most unexpected times. Teamboat Springs is that attraction where family memories are made.

Summit Plummet at Blizzard Beach

1 – Summit Plummet

And now, Ladies and Gentlemen – the show-stopper attraction! That’s right… Summit Plummet is THE attraction of attractions at Blizzard Beach. Many people choose Blizzard Beach as their water park choice simply because they are destined to tackle this near vertical drop of a water slide. This is the tallest and fastest freefall body slide around, making it an extremely intimidating attraction. Not for the faint of heart, you must also be 48 inches or taller to ride. Be prepared to drop 12 stories down the 360-foot, almost fully vertical slide until you reach the water below. Are you brave enough to try the Plummet? We dare, yeah! No worries, at 60 mph, it’ll all be over before you have a chance to change your mind.

Grab that swimsuit! Let’s head to Blizzard Beach!

We have had a long time love affair with Disney. We love the magic and the memories we've made at Walt Disney World! We follow all things Disney and have great experiences with being Annual Passholders, Disney Vacation Club Members, and RunDisney participants. From lodging to dining to Genie+ we have a spreadsheet for every occasion. Usually there isn’t a day that passes without some discussion of the master plan of our next trip to the happiest place on earth. Most people think we’re normal – until they travel to Disney with us.
