Top 10 Desserts at Disney Springs

Writing this article, and not being able to eat every dessert on the list immediately, was nothing short of torture. Disney Springs has seriously stepped up their dessert game in the last couple of years, and now there are dozens of choices for something to satisfy your sweet tooth. You could go for something cool and creamy or warm and baked, something liquid, something solid, something to munch on leisurely while strolling through the shops, or something to devour voraciously within five minutes of it arriving at the table (or in your hands). It seems impossible to pick just ten, but here are my recommendations for the top desserts in Disney Springs!

10 – Chocolate Chip Cookie- The Polite Pig

This cookie is the monster of all cookies- in the best way! Named the best cookie in Florida, the Chocolate Chip Cookie is made by Gideon’s Bakehouse Cookies and can be found at The Polite Pig restaurant. It is a blend of vanilla and chocolate flavors combined in a half-pound cookie. Topped with chocolate chips and sprinkled with sugar and sea salt, this cookie is also the perfect mix of crispy and chewy. These cookies can only be found at The Polite Pig in Disney Springs or Gideon’s Bakehouse in downtown Orlando.

9 – Hummingbird Cake- Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’

Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ is full of Southern comfort food, but the real star of the menu (in my opinion) is the Hummingbird Cake. Despite this cake being a southern staple, I had never tried it before; however, I was immediately impressed! The dessert is a spice cake that tastes similar to carrot cake but is made with bananas and pineapples, topped with a thick cream cheese frosting. The restaurant serves up a hearty slice, but I’m sure you’ll still find yourself wanting more!

8 – Gelato- Vivoli il Gelato

Gelato is the perfect treat for a hot summer’s day at Disney Springs. There are tons of flavors, but my favorite is the Stracciatella (Chocolate Chip). You can get classic gelato in a cone or a cup, but the restaurant also serves sorbetto, milkshakes, waffles, gelato-based sundaes, espresso, floats, and bakery items. You can pick up these tasty treats at two locations in Disney Springs- one near the Landing, and the other in a bike cart (look for the custom-built, retro vehicle which serves eight of the most popular gelato and sorbetto flavors).

7 – Mickey Mousse- Amorette’s Patisserie

I’ve always been a bit intimidated by Amorette’s Patisserie; the French bakery is elegant and sophisticated, with tons of signature pastries, crepes, and beverages. My favorite dessert here is the Mickey Mouse Dome Cake, called the Mickey Mousse- it’s just so cute, and the icing looks too good to eat! The dessert features chocolate chiffon cake, dark chocolate mousse, and white chocolate mousse. Amorette’s even offers a Cake Decorating Experience where guests can learn to create a dome cake of their own. Other character-inspired dome cakes and ice cream dome cakes can be ordered here with many different options for sizes, flavors, and fillings. You can also stick with the Petit Cakes, or try one of the signature macarons, brownies, or eclairs.

6 – Minnie Dessert Taco- Cookie Dough and Everything Sweet Food Truck

This food truck, located on the West Side of Disney Springs, offers one of the most delicious creations known to man- edible cookie dough! The flavors on offer are Chocolate Chip, Peanut Butter & Fluff, Cookies ‘n’ Cream Cold Brew, and Candy Monster. You can eat the dough by itself in a cup or a cone, but I like mine wrapped in a warm taco. The Minnie Dessert Taco comes with the Peanut Butter and Fluff Cookie Dough, caramel sauce, whipped cream, and a cherry, with a little Minnie bow on top! It’s super cute, but eat fast- it also melts quickly! Don’t forget to snap an Instagram picture of these adorable, unique treats.

5 – Cupcakes- Sprinkles

I think I want to marry the person who thought up the idea of a cupcake ATM. At Sprinkles in Disney Springs, you can get freshly baked cupcakes without ever going into the restaurant, but that’s not even the best part. The cupcakes themselves are a delight and range in flavors from Red Velvet to Salty Caramel. You can also get cookies, brownies, and ice cream here, and if you’re feeling adventurous, you can have your favorite ice cream sandwiched in between your favorite cupcake flavor. You can’t really go wrong with anything you order here!

4 – Sundaes- Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop

All I have to do is look at one of Ghirardelli’s famous sundaes, and my mouth starts to water. The smell of this place alone is enough to make anyone weak in the knees, and their menu of sundaes is quite extensive. Some of the classics include the Strike It Rich Butterscotch Hot Fudge Sundae and the Painted Ladies Mint Bliss. If you like to keep it simple, you can get a single scoop in a waffle cone, or choose from one of the thick milkshakes or malts. Make sure to stop by the chocolate shop on your way out for a free chocolate sample!

3 – Candy- Goofy’s Candy Company

Sometimes, nothing quells your sweet tooth more than a giant piece (or pieces) of candy. Goofy’s Candy Company has everything you could want, including chocolate-covered apples, cupcakes, fudge, lollipops, and my personal favorite, Mickey-shaped Rice Krispy treats covered in chocolate and M&Ms. The best thing about Goofy’s Candy Company is the “Create-Your-Own Snacks” option, where you can select a “base” of a specialty apple, cookie, pretzel rod, or Rice Krispy treat. Then you choose a dipping flavor, a topping, and a drizzle, and watch as your masterpiece comes to life! It’s the perfect way to end a long day of shopping and dining at Disney Springs.

2 – Frosting Shots – Erin McKenna’s Bakery

Erin McKenna’s Bakery at Disney Springs offers gluten-free, dairy-free, soy-free, vegan, and kosher desserts that are 100% delicious. You can find brownies, cookies, and cupcakes here, as well as donuts and bagels. Plus, for someone who wants just a little taste of something sweet, you can get a shot of frosting for $1.50. It’s a steal, especially if you pair it with a small coffee. This bakery is great for those with or without food allergies, and as a bonus, it’s super cute on the inside!

1 – House-Made S’more- The Ganachery

If you’re looking for specialty chocolates that can’t be found at Goofy’s Candy Company, then the Ganachery is the place to visit. My absolute favorite treat on offer here is the House-Made S’more- literally, they are made fresh right in front of you! Marshmallow and chocolate are smashed between two soft graham crackers, and a thin layer of salted caramel ganache is spread on top of the marshmallow. The whole thing is topped off with a powdered sugar-shaped Mickey. It’s nice and thick, messy, and pricey (around $8), but super worth it!

About Arielle Tuan

Arielle is a South Florida local who has had some major magical moments happen at Disney World. It started when her family would take drives there every few months, and she and her sister would pretend the Magic Kingdom was their backyard. After graduating college, she worked at Disney’s Animal Kingdom in a Professional Internship for six months; her role as a Conservation Education Presenter allowed her to recruit “wilderness explorers” by educating guests all over the park. After a successful six months of creating Disney magic, she completed Grad School at John’s Hopkin’s University with a Master’s Degree in Museum Studies. During a celebratory trip to Disney World as a new Annual Passholder, her longtime boyfriend Eric proposed to her on the attraction Soarin.’It was this final magical moment that cemented her love of Disney, and established Epcot as her second favorite park (after Animal Kingdom, of course). She got married two years later at Disney’s Vero Beach Resort and has been checking off Disney experiences ever since (visiting Disneyland in California, attending D23, and exploring Disneyland Paris). Despite her degree, Arielle’s main passion is sharing her love of Disney through writing. She has since written two books about her experiences working for Disney through the publisher Theme Park Press and has maintained a Disney/Lifestyle blog since 2016. Arielle can’t wait to continue experiencing Disney with her Prince Eric, and showing others why the magic of Disney is so special!
