6 Reasons We Love To Stay On Disney World Property

While every Walt Disney World vacation is filled with magic from the very first moments to the last attraction, there is one easy way to make sure that each day will be as magical and perfect as possible. Guests who stay on property at a Disney Resort have access to beautiful accommodations as well as many conveniences and perks that ensure that their time in Walt Disney World is as smooth and fun as possible. Disney Resort guests not only get to enjoy some of the most beautiful and intricately themed resorts around, but also can take advantage of wonderful perks like complimentary transportation and recreation which can make any day in Disney even more magical. From extra time in the parks and better FastPass selections to special television channels and complimentary transportation, there are plenty of reasons why staying on property in Walt Disney World is a great idea. Here are the top six reasons that guests love to stay at a Disney Resort on each Walt Disney World vacation.

1 – Gorgeous Grounds

Each Disney Resort features its very own theme which is incredibly immersive in order to make guests feel as though they have traveled to another place in time or location. Guests who stay at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort can enjoy tiki touches, white sand beaches, and beautiful architecture which will transport them directly to the South Seas. Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter Resort brings guests to New Orleans’ French Quarter through wrought iron details, a Mardi Gras atmosphere, and gorgeous gardens and fountains. Classic Disney animated films like The Lion King and The Little Mermaid are brought to life through larger than life characters and art work at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. No matter which Disney Resort a guest chooses to stay at, they are sure to absolutely love the wonderful and immersive theme.

2 – Complimentary Disney Transportation

One of the biggest perks about staying on property at a Walt Disney World Resort is the complimentary Disney transportation offered to guests. Depending on the Disney Resort, guests can travel directly to the four theme parks, two water parks, and Disney Springs via buses, monorails, ferries, the Disney Skyliner, and boats. By not having to worry about driving, directions, parking, and more, guests are able to simply hop aboard convenient and quick Disney transportation and travel easily to any destination on property.

3 – Access To Extra Magic Hours

Editor’s Note: During the phased reopening of Walt Disney World in 2020, Extra Magic Hours are temporarily suspended.

While many of the Disney theme parks have long hours in the busy seasons, Disney Resort guests are lucky to have access to special times in the parks. Extra Magic Hours are offered only to Disney Resort guests and feature one theme park opening an hour early each morning and another remaining open up to three hours later than the general public each evening. Guests who have access to Extra Magic Hours are smart to visit the parks during those times as there are fewer crowds, lower wait times, and easier access to very popular attractions like Toy Story Mania, Soarin’ Around the World, and the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.

4 – The Stacey Channel

Each Disney Resort room on property features a television that comes with access to all of the normal broadcasting channels. In addition to the normal channels, there are several exclusive ones that feature useful information like park hours, weather, and Disney Vacation Club information. An exclusive channel that is loved by many guests features Stacey who hosts an informative and entertaining list that outlines the must do attractions and experiences throughout all of Walt Disney World. This entertaining channel is a great perk of staying on property that many Disney Resort guests love to enjoy.

5 – Amazing Pools

Every Disney Resort is home to at least one pool location which gives guests the opportunity to kick back, catch some rays, cool off, and relax. Many of the pools in Walt Disney World are amazing, but one of the most unique ones is Stormalong Bay at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort and Disney’s Beach Club Resort. Spanning over three acres, Stormalong Bay features a sun deck, sand bottomed zero depth entry pool, lazy river, hot tubs, and water slides. Other amazing pools to enjoy at Disney Resorts are the Lava Pool at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, the Big Blue Pool at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, and Doubloon Lagoon at Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter Resort.

6 – Early FastPass Access

Editor’s Note: During the phased reopening of Walt Disney World in 2020, FastPass+ is temporarily suspended.

Any guest visiting Walt Disney World is entitled to use the FastPass system to enjoy popular attractions without the wait time. While all guests can book FastPasses, guests who stay on property at a Disney Resort can book their FastPasses sixty days in advance compared to thirty days for those who stay off property. By being able to book FastPasses before other guests, Disney Resort guests can ensure that they will receive the best options which can help them save time and frustration in the parks. Early access to FastPasses is a great perk that Disney Resort guests absolutely love!
