7 Things You Need to Know about La Hacienda de San Angel

We are definitely huge fans of dining at Walt Disney World. There are so many amazing food locations that it can be hard to pick, but La Hacienda de San Angel is definitely one that you need to add to your must-try list.  If you are considering dining at the location, then here are seven things that you definitely need to know:

7 – Where to find the restaurant.

La Hacienda de San Angel is located in the Mexico pavilion in the World Showcase at Epcot. The Mexico pavilion is the first pavilion to the left upon entering the World Showcase, so it is very easy to get to and not as far of a walk as other pavilions. Once entering the pavilion, it is the indoor restaurant located right on the water.

6 – The restaurant and atmosphere is beautiful.

The high ceilings in the restaurant give it an extremely open feel. The colors and lighting perfectly bring out the Mexico theme, with a stucco look to the walls and beautiful columns. The large windows overlook the lagoon, offering beautiful views of the rest of the World Showcase from the comfort of air conditioning.

5 – The cuisine includes favorite dishes from Mexico.

If you are a fan of cuisine from Mexico, then you have come to the right place. Of course, you are able to get chips, salsa, and guacamole along with beef or chicken dishes full of Mexican flavors and spices.  The meal wouldn’t be complete without enjoying a margarita, too! There are a variety of different margarita options or you can get the tequila flight if you are a fan of different tequilas.

4 – Dining plans are accepted.

Editor’s Note: Disney Dining Plans are temporarily suspended. However, Disney has confirmed that they will return for vacation packages beginning January 9, 2024. Those packages are now on sale.

Disney Dining Plans that have table service entitlement options are accepted at the location. The meal will cost one entitlement per person on the dining plan. The entitlement will include a non-alcoholic beverage, entrée, and dessert per person, per entitlement.

3 – The restaurant is only open for dinner service.

Unfortunately, you won’t be able to stop here to enjoy breakfast or lunch options.  This location is only open for dinner service each night.  With limited reservation times, you will definitely want to get your reservation early so that you make sure that you will be able to get in.

2 – There are amazing fireworks views.

The tall windows overlooking the lagoon make the restaurant one of the perfect locations to view the evening fireworks show.  If you time your reservation just right so that you will be seated at your table by 9 PM (when the show is usually held), then you will have an amazing vantage point for the show.  The audio for the show is also piped into the restaurant so that you can experience the entire show.  Enjoying fireworks while dining and in the comfort of air conditioning is always a favorite for our family.

1 – Be sure to ask about any available discounts.

You will definitely want to ask your server what discounts are accepted.  It can vary depending on the time of year and other things, but typically Annual Passholder, DVC, and other discounts are accepted at the location.  The amount of the discount can also vary seasonally.  It is always worth asking what is currently accepted to take advantage of any discounts you qualify for.

Kristin

Hi! I’m Kristin, and I am a wife and mother of 2 young boys (ages 5 and 2). I first fell in love with Disney when my mom took me when I was a child. After that I proceeded to go to WDW for my senior trip with my friends, and I completed a year in the Disney College Program (working in merchandise at Mickey’s of Hollywood at Disney’s Hollywood Studios). I shared my love of Disney with my now husband and sucked him in. We vacationed at Walt Disney World 2-3 times per year. We decided that what maked more sense was just moving to Orlando so that we could live the Disney life and be here for all of our favorite events and seasons every year. That is exactly what we did! Now we are at the parks a couple times a week and go for most events and major holidays. We can’t get enough and get to experience Disney in a whole different way.
