12 Simple Pleasures at Disney World Parks

The attractions and shows at Walt Disney World are amazing, but there are also many amazing, simple things that you can experience during your Walt Disney World vacation.  Here are our top twelve simple pleasures that you should be sure to enjoy at Disney Parks:

12 – Take in everything around you.

You don’t want to miss out on the little things going on around the parks. There are so many little details and extras that if you only focus on getting to the next attraction, you will miss out on so much. You should look around and check out all of the amazing aspects of the parks, so you get the full experience.

11 – Putting your hands up on attractions.

It is so much fun to cut loose and put your hands up on some more thrilling attractions. It gets your adrenaline and energy up and gives you the feeling of cutting loose and immersing yourself in the experience.

10 – Enjoying the entertainment in the streets of the parks.

There is various entertainment that takes place on the streets of the parks. Some characters are themed to the park and entertain guests, musical performances, and more. If you breeze on by these areas to get to the rides, then you will definitely miss out. Slow down and stroll through so that you can check out everything there is to see!

9 – All of the great people watching.

Disney is definitely an excellent place for people-watching. You will see a variety of personalities, interesting outfits, odd conversations, and more. When we need a break, we like to find a comfortable place to relax and just check out the people who enjoy the parks.

8 – Disney transportation.

It may not sound like much fun, but Disney transportation is a blast. There are buses, monorails, boats, and the Walt Disney World Railroad to enjoy. The Disney Skyliner is also a fun option. The transportation gives you an exciting way to get to and from the parks while also seeing the beautiful scenery around Walt Disney World. It is much more relaxing than trying to drive yourself.

7 – Hanging around the park after closing.

There is something fun about being one of the last people to leave the parks. You have the opportunity to take pictures and enjoy the beauty of the parks at night without as many guests around. The lines for the buses are also typically shorter if you wait longer to let the park clear out.

6 – Watching the fireworks shows.

Fireworks are a staple for Disney parks. They are among the most magical and immersive fireworks experiences that you will ever experience around the world. There are shows at multiple parks, and you will definitely want to see them all! You can even watch them from outside the parks for a more relaxing experience.

5 – Character meet and greets.

Meeting the characters is a fantastic part of any Disney vacation. It seems like such a simple experience, but it is magical for the entire family. There is just something special about meeting one of your favorite characters for the very first time.

4 – Sampling the tasty snacks.

There are so many fantastic food options around Walt Disney World. No matter whether you are looking for a full meal or just a snack, you will find amazing treats to enjoy with the family. You will be able to smell them all throughout the park, so if you weren’t hungry before, you will be after that!

3 – Being the first to enter the park.

It is a lot of fun to be among the first to enter the park. The park will be completely empty, and you can head toward the attraction of your choice and get right on without waiting forever in line, with no Lightning Lane access needed! You can also stop and take amazing pictures in front of park icons without all of the crowds of people around.

2 – The view of Cinderella Castle and other park icons.

Each of the icons for the theme parks are impressive and amazing. They make for great photo backdrops and breathtaking moments that you will treasure forever. They set the tone for the start of your day in the parks.

1 – Enjoying your family and loved ones.

The most important aspect of any Disney vacation is to enjoy the time with the people around you. Take in and notice how much they are enjoying everything around them. It is more magical to watch the faces of your loved ones light up amongst all of the fantastic experiences than any of the rides, attractions, or shows out there. Bonding as a family is the most important thing you can get out of the vacation.

Kristin

Hi! I’m Kristin, and I am a wife and mother of 2 young boys (ages 5 and 2). I first fell in love with Disney when my mom took me when I was a child. After that I proceeded to go to WDW for my senior trip with my friends, and I completed a year in the Disney College Program (working in merchandise at Mickey’s of Hollywood at Disney’s Hollywood Studios). I shared my love of Disney with my now husband and sucked him in. We vacationed at Walt Disney World 2-3 times per year. We decided that what maked more sense was just moving to Orlando so that we could live the Disney life and be here for all of our favorite events and seasons every year. That is exactly what we did! Now we are at the parks a couple times a week and go for most events and major holidays. We can’t get enough and get to experience Disney in a whole different way.
