7 Things to Know about Narcoossee’s at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort

Narcoossee’s is a fantastic restaurant at Walt Disney World. It is a great restaurant for a date night, special occasion or even a nice night out with the family. If you are contemplating dining here on your next trip, then you should definitely read these 7 great things to know about Narcoossee’s:

7 – It is a Disney Signature Restaurant.

Editor’s Note: At this time, the Disney Dining Plan is temporarily suspended.

Narcoossee’s is one of Disney’s Signature restaurants. This means that the restaurant is a bit higher-end, and you can also expect higher prices. If you are on the Disney Dining Plan, the meal will cost two table-service entitlements per person instead of the usual one entitlement required for a meal. It is well worth it and a delicious culinary experience, but it is good to know going into the experience to ensure you have budgeted for it.

6 – The location is amazing.

The restaurant is located at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort right on the water overlooking the Seven Seas Lagoon. The location offers views of the Magic Kingdom, the lagoon activities, and the other resorts that are located on the lagoon. The stroll to the restaurant and around the grounds of the Grand Floridian is beautiful, so I highly recommend a before or after dinner walk to explore.

5 – You can view Disney Enchantment fireworks and the Electrical Water Pageant from the restaurant.

Since the restaurant is right on the water, it puts it in the perfect location to see these fantastic nighttime shows. You can see the Disney Enchantment fireworks show from the restaurant or the deck around the restaurant. Not only that, the music for the show is piped in so that you can get the full effect of the show without standing in the middle of the crowds at the park. The Electrical Water Pageant is a series of boats with lights that move through the lagoon and form various animals, American flags, etc. It is a classic attraction that has been around a long time and one that is awesome to see while you dine.

4 – The menu changes seasonally.

The chefs at this location are among the best on property. They are continually reviewing the menu and making seasonal changes to provide selections that enhance and fit with the season at the time. This can be disappointing if there are seasonal items that you love, but it is nice to get a little bit of variety and work in seasonal favorites on the menu. I love getting a little bit of variation each time that we dine there.

3 – There is a dress code for the restaurant.

This is definitely important to remember. This isn’t a restaurant that guests will show up in flip flops and t-shirts to. Typically men wear dress pants or shorts with a polo or button-up style shirt. Women will usually also wear dressier clothes, like a blouse and dress pants or a skirt. It adds to the ambiance and theme for the restaurant and makes it feel more like a special evening.

2 – You can see some of the action in the kitchen.

Part of the kitchen is visible and part of the show for the guests. You can see some of the chefs at work and preparing the delicious food items. You will get a sneak peek at some of the items, which could either help or hurt when it comes to trying to make up your mind as to what to order. If you are interested in cooking and culinary shows, then you will love getting to see some of the food preparation while you dine.

1 – The menu for the restaurant is coastal cuisine.

You will find a heavy seafood and coastal influence on the menu. You can definitely order an amazing steak, but if you are in the mood for lobster, fish, mussels, scallops, shrimp, and more, then you have come to the right place. You will find all of these items on the menu and more, prepared by culinary experts. The food is amazing, and we look forward to a date night here as often as we can. Be sure to save room for dessert, though, because the Narcoossee’s Candy Bar is one of my favorites!

Christy Caby

Hi! I’m Christy, and I am a wife and mother of 2 young boys (ages 5 and 2). I first fell in love with Disney when my mom took me when I was a child. After that I proceeded to go to WDW for my senior trip with my friends, and I completed a year in the Disney College Program (working in merchandise at Mickey’s of Hollywood at Disney’s Hollywood Studios). I shared my love of Disney with my now husband and sucked him in. He proposed at Disney, we honeymooned at Disney, we started bringing our boys before they were born and then as early as 8 weeks old. We then continued to vacation to Walt Disney World 2-3 times per year. We decided that what makes more sense than just moving to Orlando so that we could live the Disney life and be here for all of our favorite events and seasons every year. That is exactly what we did! Now we are at the parks a couple times a week and go for most events and major holidays. We can’t get enough and get to experience Disney in a whole different way. I love to share this love and passion for all things Disney with the world and hope that I can help others appreciate the magic that Walt Disney World has to offer!
