Why We Love the Dole Whip & Where to Find it at Walt Disney World

The DOLE Whip is one of the most popular treats at Walt Disney World. It’s become so popular, in fact, that it even has its own holiday! The third Thursday of July is officially DOLE Whip Day! Thankfully, no matter when you visit, you can celebrate your love of everything DOLE Whip while visiting Walt Disney World. What’s DOLE Whip and where can you find it? Learn more below.

What is DOLE Whip?:

The original DOLE Whip is a non-dairy pineapple frozen soft serve treat that was created by Dole Food Company in 1984. The pineapple flavor is classic and the flavor most guests think of when they think of Dole Whips. However, there are now many different flavors offered such as orange, strawberry, cherry, lime, raspberry, lemon, and watermelon! So, even if you are not a pineapple fan, there is a DOLE Whip flavor for you!

It is most often served in a cup. There are also many different float varieties. Some locations also feature alcoholic versions, where you can get soft serve with different types of alcohol poured over the top or blended with it.

Why we love the DOLE Whip:

The DOLE Whip has become an iconic staple at Walt Disney World. It is extremely refreshing and light compared to many of the treats and snacks in the park. On a hot Florida day, it is a treat that will cool you off and leave you feeling more refreshed. It is eligible as a snack credit for guests on the Disney Dining Plan (not applicable for the alcoholic versions), too. If you haven’t had one, then you absolutely have to give it a try!

Where to find the Dole Whip at Walt Disney World:

Magic Kingdom Park

1 – Aloha Isle – Adventureland

This is the classic DOLE Whip location at Walt Disney World and used to be the only location where you could find this delicious treat. The menu features the classics like DOLE Whip Pineapple soft serve with an option to be swirled with vanilla. The Pineapple Float and Pineapple Upside-down Cake are popular items here. At this location, my favorite is the Tropical Serenade Float, which features POG (pineapple, orange, and guava) juice, coconut soft serve, and an upside-down pineapple pop!

2 – Sunshine Tree Terrace

Sunshine Tree Terrace, home of the Disney Orange Bird, serves the delicious DOLE Whip orange and DOLE Whip strawberry. You can’t go wrong with the delicious orange cream made with DOLE Whip orange and vanilla soft serve. There are also a few different float offerings, including the popular I Lava You Float, which features DOLE Whip orange with Fanta Strawberry and red passion fruit syrup topped with popping candy.

Tip: Be sure to check out the Orange Bird mural on the side of Sunshine Tree Terrace. It’s the perfect photo backdrop for your Dole Whip treat!

3 – Storybook Treats

Featuring treats fit for royalty, Storybook Treats offers unique flavors, so it’s definitely worth a visit! Offerings are seasonal and will change throughout the year, but you can plan on getting a delicious treat. Currently, there are two options available. First, the Aurora Cone has DOLE Whip Strawberry and blue soft serve with white chocolate crisp pearls. The Rapunzel Sundae features a shortcake with wild berry soft serve and DOLE Whip Lemon topped with berry compote and sugar flowers. We really enjoyed the Rapunzel Sundae. The lemon and berry flavors were perfect for a hot summer day!
