It’s hard to believe that it’s been three years since a Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party was held at Magic Kingdom. Thankfully, the party is with the first Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party being held on August 12, 22022. We were there and enjoyed it immensely. It was so awesome to have the full party back with everything we have come to love about the Halloween party. This year there are some new things you’re going to love. They can be purchased online or through the Disney Reservations Center at (407) 827-7350. Children are encouraged to dress in costume and enjoy the fun of Halloween with their families.

2 – Party Time!

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party takes place from 7:00 pm and runs through midnight. Ticket holders can enter Magic Kingdom as early as 4:00 pm on the date of their ticket. We always recommend guests get there early so they can get an extra three hours inside Magic Kingdom. The park closes at 6:00 pm for day guests, and in that 6:00-7:00 hour, you will find that it will be crazy busy as thousands leave the park and party guests stream in. It’s generally not as crazy getting into the party if you arrive before 6:00 pm.

3 – New Additions for the 50th Anniversary Celebration

In honor of the 50th Anniversary celebration, Disney made a few new additions to the party. First, guests will receive a reusable trick-or-treating tote bag to use. In years past, the bag was a plastic bag. While small, this reusable bag is cute and a nice bag to take home as a souvenir.

Next, be on the lookout for some event-exclusive step-in photo opportunities. We found a Headless Horseman, Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride, and a Monster’s Inc. photo op. They are a lot of fun!

Finally, when guests leave the party, Cast Members will hand out a Halloween- themed 50thAnniversary celebration commemorative print.

4 – A Fantastic Lineup of Disney Entertainment

One of the biggest draws of Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is the fantastic lineup of Disney entertainment. The party includes one of the most popular and beloved Disney parades, one of the best holiday fireworks shows, and a fan-favorite stage show full of an incredibly talented cast that entertain like no one else. Add in the Cadaver Dans quartet, and you’ve got the perfect line-up of entertainment. Just know that at the Halloween party, you won’t be bored! 5 – Party Exclusive Food, Beverage, & Novelty Items

Every year we look forward to trick or treating during the party, but we save our appetite for the specialty food and beverages you can only get during party hours. Click here for the complete Foodie Guide with details on where you can purchase the items. While most items are party exclusives, a few items are available at Magic Kingdom during normal hours. Check the guide for details.

6 – Monster World at Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor

Back again this year is a trick-or-treat trail into the Monster World at Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor. When you visit this trail, you’ll interact with a comic entourage of monsters who are learning about the curious human-world holiday called Halloween. It’s a great addition to the party and worth a stop!

7 – Returning Attraction Enhancements

Also back this year are the returning “Halloween Twists” to three popular Magic Kingdom attractions. Space Mountain turns out the lights, going completely dark, and hurtles guests through the blackness of deep space to the sounds of a hard-rockin’ soundtrack. Guests embarking on Pirates of the Caribbean will encounter a crew of live pirates engaged in a whole new swashbuckling quest for treasure. Finally, at the Mad Tea Party, special lighting and music enhance the nighttime experience, bringing out the maddest hatter in everyone. You’ll want to carve out time to ride these attractions as these twists really enhance your ride experience. We absolutely love Space Mountain in complete darkness. It’s a whole new ride experience and our favorite way to ride Space Mountain.

8 – Characters

Many people attend the party solely for the outstanding collection of party-exclusive character meet and greets. You’ll be able to meet with hard-to-find characters and Disney favorites dressed up in their Halloween best. Characters include: Abu, Aladdin, Anastasia, Ariel, Belle, Big Al, Daisy Duck, Doc McStuffins, Donald Duck, Drizella, Eeyore, Fancy Nancy, Gaston, Genie, Goofy, Jack Skellington, Jafar, Liverlips, Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Piglet, Prince Eric, Princess Jasmine, Sally, Shaker, Tigger, Timon, Vampirina, Wendell and Winnie the Pooh. Check the MyDisney Experience App for character locations during the party.

9 – Trick or Treating

What would be a Halloween party without candy? During Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, guests can go trick-or-treating for M&M’S, SKITTLES, SNICKERS, and other Halloween favorites at locations throughout Magic Kingdom Park. And new this year, guests will also receive a reusable trick-or-treat bag featuring a keepsake 50th Anniversary celebration and Halloween design. Check the My Disney Experience app or Party brochure for trick-or-treat locations.

10 – Merchandise

You’ll likely want to pick up souvenir items from the party, and there are some fantastic choices this year. The collection includes apparel for the entire family. You’ll find the entire collection of items at Emporium. This is the only location where you can get the party items. There was a very long line for access to the items all night. It was even up to one hour at one point, so if you want event merchandise, be sure to line up early. The Emporium closes exactly at midnight, and there is no opportunity to shop for items once the party ends.

Editor’s Note: Our visit to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party was not sponsored in any way. We purchased our tickets at the annual passholder rate. As always, our thoughts and recommendations are completely our own.
