Solutions for 3 Real World Problems While at Disney World

A vacation can be a wonderful escape from the real world, especially a vacation at Walt Disney World. In all of our Disney vacations, we lovingly referred to this phenomenon as the “Disney Bubble.” This bubble is an invisible force field that surrounds the Disney property. Once inside, your real-life worries and problems go away, and you can live happily ever after in the magical bubble.

If only it were that way. Unfortunately, life still goes on at Disney, and real-life problems can and do pop up. Here are tips for how to keep them from ruining your vacation.

1 – Help! I’ve Locked My Keys in My Car! (Or other car issues)

First, I must say that I have no experience with this one, no, not me. I didn’t lock my keys in my car in the morning while visiting with my sisters to celebrate my birthday. Nope. Okay, yeah, I did. Thankfully, help was not very far away. Since I didn’t want to lose one to two hours waiting for my AAA truck to arrive, I found the nearest security officer. My keys were in plain view, so I was a bit worried about leaving my vehicle. Would someone break in and steal my truck? The officer took my license plate and row number and assured me he would “keep an eye” out for me. I called AAA and waited for my superhero when it was close to closing time. He came within 45 minutes and even offered us water bottles! He got the keys within seconds, and we were on our way.

Helping guests deal with problems is one of the areas where Disney really shines, and nowhere better than in the parking lot. Solving any issue with your vehicle should start with alerting a cast member. There are many troubles they can take care of with very little fuss. If it’s a problem they can’t solve, they’ll bend over backward to connect you with someone who can. Bottom line, don’t panic. It will be an excellent opportunity to see Disney cast members at their best.

2 – Help! I’m Sick at Disney World!

Being sick is never fun. Being sick while at Disney is the worst. Thankfully, there is help around the corner. First, each park has a First Aid center, which will assist you with basic first aid. Nurses are available during normal park operating hours to offer over-the-counter medications, bandages, and other quick remedies. In-room medical services are also available at Walt Disney Resorts. If your illness requires more care, an off-site center may be needed.

First, there is a fantastic hospital and emergency room across I4 in Celebration. Chad has personally “enjoyed’ their services after a car accident and can honestly say it was the most pleasant emergency room visit he ever had. However, most medical issues don’t require that level of care, and there is no reason to pay the higher copays and medical charges associated with a visit to the emergency room. Don’t feel like the ER is the only option for a stomach ache just because you’re unfamiliar with the area.

In central Florida, Advent Health Centra Care Walk-In Urgent Care Centers provide excellent care and are the go-to option when you need to see a doctor right away, but you aren’t missing any limbs or bleeding to death. They even offer transportation to and from Disney World if you don’t have a vehicle. Reservations are suggested and highly recommended to cut down on a long wait. The two closest Centra Care facilities are listed below.

3 – Help! I Need Groceries!

Even if you are staying at a Disney Resort, you may find that you need to get some basic groceries for your vacation. Every Disney Resort has basic grocery supplies in its gift shops, albeit for a hefty price increase. If you find you want more options and cheaper prices, then heading out to a grocery store may be what you need. If you have your own transportation, then a Publix store, a Target Super Center, and a Walmart Super Center are all located near Walt Disney World. The Publix store in Celebration is wonderful and is located at 29 Blake Blvd, Celebration, FL 34747. They have a fantastic bakery, deli, and wine selection.
