5 Things to Know About the Norway Pavilion at Disney’s Epcot

Welcome to Norway! With the popularity of Frozen and Frozen 2, the Norway Pavilion in Epcot is the place to be! The popularity of Norway is hitting an all-time high and causing us all to want to flock to it as soon as possible! Before you make the trek to Norway around the World Showcase, it may be helpful to have a grasp on what the Norway Pavilion is all about. Here are five things you need to know about the Norway Pavilion so you won’t be “frozen” in your tracks!

1 – “Cool” Location

We can’t help ourselves with the Frozen puns! The Norway Pavilion has a fantastic location – nestled between the Mexico Pavilion and China Pavilion. Once leaving the front of the park into the World Showcase, make a left and head to the second country on the path. You can’t miss the Norwegian-inspired village with a Viking tone to the space. We love Norway’s location as it’s an easy walk and a great stopping place to enlighten the senses. At the present time, the atmosphere is full of hustle and bustle. Large crowds are exploring the Norway Pavilion, particularly for the new additions with Frozen After Ever and the extremely popular sisters, Princess Anna and Queen Elsa. Amid the crowd, don’t forget to look up at the incredible architecture. Listen to the beautiful Norwegian music and smell the treats being made in the bakery!

2 – Royal Sisters

Meet Queen Elsa and Princess Anna at their summer home known as the Royal Sommerhus! In this quaint and cozy cabin, the sisters are eager to welcome guests to join them for a meet and greet and a perfect photo opportunity so the moment can be “frozen” in time.

3 – Frozen Attractions

Let’s talk about all the fuss these days – the attraction in Norway – Frozen Ever After. Set sail on a Norwegian vessel out of the village of Arendelle, as seen in the Frozen film. Boat through the frozen willow forest to spot all the favorite Frozen characters, such as Anna, Elsa, Olaf, Kristoff, and more. Guests experience a “Summer Snow Day” along the ride and, of course, get to sing along to the unforgettable Frozen songs such as “Let It Go.” The attraction takes much of the same path as the Maelstrom attraction that was replaced by Frozen Ever After. When this baby first opened, guests waited 5 hours for the 5-minute ride. Wait times now, the wait time will often be over one hour. Finally, Frozen Ever After is part of the Lightning Lane Multi Pass at EPCOT.

Plus, don’t forget to take a walk through the Stave Church Gallery attraction. This gallery features myths, gods, and legends of the real Vikings in this exhibit of Norwegian artifacts.

4 – Norwegian Dining

The Norway Pavilion is known to hold one of the best character dining experiences in all of Disney World! Akershus Royal Banquet Hall not only has superb food on its menu, but they also have Disney Princesses who visit guests while they dine. The Disney Princesses may include Snow White, Cinderella, Belle, Aurora, Ariel, and Mary Poppins. It’s a wonderful experience that is especially magical for the little princess in your life! Not looking for a full-blown meal and dining experience? Guests passing by Norway should definitely stop by the Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe. Taste a variety of Norwegian specialties and Viking coffee. So much goodness to choose from!

5 – Shop Like a Viking

Vikings (and all Disney guests!) are welcome to shop at The Puffin’s Roost. This is a gift shop that holds some unique Norway-style merchandise, such as neat Viking helmets, Norway apparel, and collectibles. We especially love taking a picture with the recently moved troll from one location to now standing in the corner of The Puffin’s Roost. You can’t miss the big guy, so get that camera ready and snap a selfie with him!

What is your favorite part of the Norway Pavilion since its recent changes? We’d love to hear from you!
