Family Dining on the Disney Destiny – What You Need to Know
There’s nothing quite like dining on a Disney Cruise Line. On the Disney Destiny, guests will find a wide variety of family dining options that fit the needs of every cruiser. We enjoyed a special preview cruise on the Disney Destiny, where we checked out each venue. Most of these offerings are included in your cruise fare, however some like have additional fees. Learn about these dining options below.
1 – A Disney Cruise Line Tradition: Rotational Dining
The Disney Destiny continues Disney Cruise Line’s innovative family dining concept, where guests experience one of three imaginative restaurants each night, accompanied by a dedicated service team that is assigned to their family throughout the voyage. With exceptional attention to detail, guests enjoy a variety of dining experiences with friendly, familiar, and personalized service every evening. On the Disney Destiny, guests will enjoy three main dining experiences: Pride Lands: Feast of the Lion King (new and exclusive to Disney Destiny), Worlds of Marvel, and 1923.
2 – Pride Lands: Feast of the Lion King
Disney Cruise Line debuts a brand-new family dining experience exclusive to the Disney Destiny, complementing two guest-favorite restaurants from the Disney Wish and Disney Treasure. At Pride Lands: Feast of The Lion King, the iconic songs and legendary moments of “The Lion King” come to life. This first-of-its-kind dining experience celebrates the renowned Walt Disney Animation Studios film.

As families dine, a colorful ensemble of live musicians and storytellers takes the stage and presents a retelling of Simba’s story from cub to king, along with a musical journey through the award-winning soundtrack. A uniquely themed menu with authentic African spice blends, sauces, grains, and produce underscores this exceptional dining experience, allowing families to expand their horizons with traditional dishes from across the continent and discover new spins on Disney Cruise Line guest-favorite dishes.
We really enjoyed our dinner at Pride Lands and have more to share! A closer look at this restaurant is coming soon!
3 – World of Marvel
Guests are also invited to an out-of-this-world celebration of Marvel Super Heroes at Worlds of Marvel. At Worlds of Marvel, families eat to the beat of an awesome mix of hit songs and test their knowledge of the Marvel Universe, all as an onscreen story unfolds starring the lively duo of Rocket and Groot from the blockbuster Marvel Studios “Guardians of the Galaxy” films.

4 – 1923
Named for the year The Walt Disney Company was founded, 1923 is an elegant celebration of the legacy of Disney animation in an elegant setting imbued with classic Hollywood glamour. With more than 1,000 drawings, props, and other tools of the animation trade on display, the artwork of 1923 will showcase tales of heroes and villains in “Hercules,” “Sleeping Beauty,” “Big Hero 6,” “Wreck-It Ralph,” and more.

5 – Marceline Market
Marceline Market is our go-to restaurant for breakfast and (usually) lunch, offering a casual, walk-around dining experience with indoor and outdoor seating and ocean views. It’s named for Walt Disney’s early childhood hometown in Missouri. The restaurant provides a variety of food stalls and a café-style beverage bar in the center. Guests can enjoy a wide-ranging variety of freshly prepared cuisines for the whole family, including American classics, international specialties, comfort foods, seafood, soups and salads, vegetarian and plant-based fare, baked goods, and desserts. There’s something for everyone at Marceline Market.

6 – Mickey and Friends Festival of Foods
On the Wish Class ships, guests will also love Mickey and Friends Festival of Foods, which is actually five themed food stalls. Choose between: Mickey’s Smokestack Barbecue, Donald’s Cantina, Daisy’s Pizza Pies, Goofy’s Grill, and Sweet Minnie’s Ice Cream. I particularly love Donald’s Cantina, and Chad will get some great barbecue at Mickey’s Smokestack. These restaurants are open for lunch and dinner, and some, like Daisy’s Pizza, will be open late for cruisers who are looking for a late-night snack. Nearby, shaded seating offers ocean views and a convenient spot to enjoy the meals.

7 – Edna Á La Mode Sweets
The all-new Edna Á La Mode Sweets is a one-of-a-kind confectionery where a marvelous selection of handmade gelato, ice cream, cookies, candies, and specialty treats will be served from Edna Mode’s lab, where the famed fashion designer whips up outfits for the world’s most famous Supers in Pixar’s “The Incredibles” films.

8 – Cafés
Families can also enjoy convenient meals and snacks with a variety of dining options, including quick bites, casual dining, 24-hour room service, and gourmet cafes — including Café Megara and Café Merida, two new walk-up cafes just off the Grand Hall inspired by Disney Animation’s “Hercules” and Pixar Animation Studios’ “Brave.”
