NEWS: Disney Shares More Video & Photos of New Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin.

The reopening of the reimagined Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin in Disney’s Magic Kingdom is just around the corner. Cast previews started today which means soft openings are probably close behind. The updated ride looks fantastic and we love the improvements imagineers have made to the ride experience, especially the hand held blasters.

Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin has been closed for nearly a year for a major refurbishment and reimagining. The updated attraction will feature new interactive targets and hand-held blasters, new lighting, sound and vibration effects. With new responsive digital targets and blasters that provide feedback through vibrations and sound effects when targets are hit, the game experience should be significantly better.

There are also new scenes, including the open scene, that introduces Buddy, your support robot for the attraction experience. Buddy will make sure you’re prepared to battle the evil emperor Zerg and anything else you may encounter on your journey with instructions, system checks, and a chance to practice before mission launch. Upgraded scoring screens will also give guests more detail with number of targets and special targets hit in addition to overall score.
