NEWS: Opening Date, Preview & Details Revealed for Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin

The big day is almost here. Disney World has announced the opening date of the reimagined Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin in Magic Kingdom. Disney Imagineering has also released details, along with a preview of what guests can expect. This is going to be a major upgrade over the original version of the attraction and we can’t wait!

Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin has been closed for nearly a year for a major refurbishment and reimagining. The updated attraction will feature new interactive targets and hand-held blasters, new lighting, sound and vibration effects. With new responsive digital targets and blasters that provide feedback through vibrations and sound effects when targets are hit, the game experience should be significantly better.

There are also new scenes, including the open scene, that introduces Buddy, your support robot for the attraction experience. Buddy will make sure you’re prepared to battle the evil emperor Zerg and anything else you may encounter on your journey with instructions, system checks, and a chance to practice before mission launch. Upgraded scoring screens will also give guests more detail with number of targets and special targets hit in addition to overall score.

Finally, there will be new Disney PhotoPass memories for guests featuring, for the first time, their scores and rank for all the bragging rights.
