Disney World Invests $1.3 Million In Local Education, Brings Cool KIDS’ SUMMER Preview to Five Central Florida Schools

While those of us who call Orlando home know well, many guests who visit from elsewhere around the world many not be aware of how active the Disney Company and the cast members of Walt Disney World are in the local community. Disney is especially active in supporting local school systems and other educational efforts around the Central Florida area. Disney continues that commitment this spring with the announcement of a $1.3 million investment in schools in five different Central Florida counties.

Ahead of Cool KIDS’ SUMMER, Walt Disney World is supporting Central Florida education in a big way, announcing a $1.3 million investment for education programs, visiting local elementary schools, and surprising teachers with Disney theme park tickets.

As another great school year wraps up, we wanted to celebrate students and educators across Orange, Osceola, Lake, Polk, and Seminole counties the best way we know how: by bringing a little Disney magic straight to their schools.

The Goof Troop Drops into Local Schools

We surprised local elementary schools with a taste of the fun families and young children can experience during Cool KIDS’ SUMMER at Disney World. Kindergarten and pre‑K students were treated to zany, wacky, and downright goofy fun coming to GoofyCore at EPCOT this summer.

The Goof Troop dropped in to help their pal Goofy get things moving and grooving, as the schools’ youngest students jumped right into seriously silly (and seriously fun!) activities.

But the magic didn’t stop when the final bell rang. After students headed home, we invited teachers, administrators, and school staff to stick around for an extra‑special round of games, complete with a big “thank you” for everything they do to support students each and every day. To show our appreciation, each educator received tickets to visit Walt Disney World with their families.

A Big Investment in the Central Florida Community

These school visits are just one piece of Disney World’s ongoing support of education in Florida. Alongside bringing the fun of Cool KIDS’ SUMMER, we’re also proud to bring meaningful funding that helps education programs thrive.

This summer, that includes a $1.3 million donation supporting all five local school districts, along with nonprofits like Elevate Orlando, A Gift for Teaching, and programs such as the Orlando Philharmonic Young People’s Concert and Disney Musicals in Schools through the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts.

That monetary donation makes a difference where it’s needed most, funding opportunities in STEM, literacy programs, arts education, and more.

From playful moments shared at school to the unforgettable fun families can experience together in the parks, Cool KIDS’ SUMMER is all about sparking joy, creativity, and connection. Families can join the fun when Cool KIDS’ SUMMER returns to Disney World from May 26 through September 8.
