10 Fun Facts (with Photos!) About the Disney Destiny – Disney Cruise Line’s Newest Ship

The Disney Destiny is Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship that celebrates the legacies of heroes and villains from Disney, Pixar, and Marvel to offer new and guest-favorite experiences steeped in legendary Disney lore. We spent three days experience all of the new offerings and picked up a fun fact or two about the new ship. Keep reading for # fun facts about new offerings on the Disney Destiny.
1 – PRIDE LANDS: FEAST OF THE LION KING
Pride Lands: Feast of the Lion King is Disney’s first dining experience celebrating the iconic music of the Walt Disney Animation Studios film with incredible live performances during dinner.
Fun Fact: The restaurant features a wall of magical windows that transform into stunning sunrises and sunsets throughout the meal.

2 – “DISNEY HERCULES”
Disney Hercules is a brand-new, Broadway-style retelling of the Walt Disney Animation Studios film, offering a fresh, contemporary take on the legendary soundtrack.
Fun Fact: The production marks the theatrical debut of “Shooting Star,” a heartfelt ballad that was originally written for the movie.

3 – THE GRAND HALL
The Grand Hall is the Disney Destiny’s central gathering space and draws design inspiration from the vibrant world of Marvel Studios’ “Black Panther” films.
Fun Fact: The color palettes used to furnish the Grand Hall are inspired by the different tribes of Wakanda from the “Black Panther” films. The River Tribe is green; Royal Family is black, white, purple; Jabari Tribe is brown.

4 – DE VIL’S
De Vil’s is an all-new piano lounge inspired by the fabulously over-the-top villain Cruella de Vil of Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “One Hundred and One Dalmatians.”
Fun Fact: The venue’s entrance is outfitted with a custom floor mosaic inlaid with Cruella’s infamous catchphrase, “How Marvelous,” and Dalmatian paw prints.

5 – EDNA Á LA MODE SWEETS
Edna a’ la Mode Sweets is a one-of-a-kind confectionery inspired by Pixar’s “The Incredibles,” is a one-of-a-kind confectionery inspired by Pixar’s “The Incredibles,” exclusive to the Disney Destiny.
Fun Fact: The front window display at Edna Á La Mode Sweets showcases the iconic super suits for Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl.

6 – THE SANCTUM
The Sanctum is Disney Cruise Line’s first lounge inspired by the powerful sorcerers and mystical artifacts of Marvel Studios’ “Doctor Strange.”
Fun Fact: A circular mirror window behind the bar is reminiscent of the iconic seal from the New York Sanctum.

7 – CASK & CANNON
The Cask & Cannon is a swashbuckling pub inspired by the beloved “Pirates of the Caribbean” Disney Parks attractions around the world.
Fun Fact: The Cask & Cannon ceiling depicts a treasure map of the Caribbean Sea with seven pirate ships that represent the growing Disney Cruise Line fleet.

8 – SAGA
Saga is an entertainment hub offering a variety of live shows designed for families to laugh, sing and compete together, plus adult-exclusive options at night.
Fun Fact: Saga pulls design inspiration from King T’Challa’s throne room in Marvel Studios’ “Black Panther” films, bringing recognizable geometric patterns and color palettes to life for guests.

9 – AQUAMOUSE
AquaMouse Disney Cruise Line’s signature water attraction, is debuting a splashtacular new storyline filled with Disney Animation villains called “Sing a Silly Song.”
Fun Fact: Complete with show scenes, lighting and special effects, AquaMouse sends guests on a fun family adventure through 760 feet of winding tubes suspended above the upper decks.

10 – Immersive “MEET-AND-PLAYS”
You’ve heard of Meet and Greets but how about Meet and Plays? The new Meet and Plays are exclusive new ways to interact with fan-favorite villains, rogues and mischief-makers like Cruella de Vil, Maleficent, Dr. Facilier, Captain Jack Sparrow and Loki.
Fun Fact: Intent on clearing his name with the mortals of Midgard, Loki will try to declare himself ruler of this vessel and its occupants. The God of Mischief will create chaos throughout the voyage with grand proclamations of his glorious purpose, dubious retellings of well-known stories, surprise competitions for guests to prove their adoration for his royal highness, and more.
