Disney Destiny

Upper Deck Fun on the Disney Destiny-What You Need to Know!

The Disney Destiny offers guests an opportunity to play or recharge on the upper decks. Themed districts provide a variety of options, including fun water features, pools and water slides, quick and casual dining, and dedicated spaces for families, children, and adults to relax and soak up the sun. Learn more about these fun offerings below.

Mickey and Friends District

The largest district is themed to Mickey and friends. Guests will love the many pools, staggered across decks 11, 12, and 13. There are plenty of luxe lounge chairs to choose from. When hunger strikes, guests will love the food options at Mickey and Friends Festive Foods right in the heart of things on Deck 11. Finally, Disney Cruise Line’s own attraction at sea, the AquaMouse, will thrill guests of all ages as it soars above the decks.

1 – AquaMouse

Made popular on the Disney Wish and Disney Treasure, Disney Cruise Line’s water coaster at sea, the AquaMouse, also thrills guests on the Disney Destiny. The water coaster features show scenes, lighting, and special effects, sending guests through 760 feet of winding tubes suspended high above the upper decks, offering fantastic views of the ocean and the ship below.

The Disney Destiny features an exclusive storyline, “Sing a Silly Song.” The show is so much fun. Mickey and Minnie lead guests on a trek to the peak of Villain Mountain. This endeavor might scare some, but Mickey and Minnie are determined, and they decide to sing a silly song to transform each chilling encounter into a wacky surprise. The storyline fits perfectly with the heroes-and-villains theme of Disney Destiny, and we couldn’t stop singing the song long after we rode it. Take a peek at the ride below!

2 – Mickey and Friends Pools

Those wanting to spend the day by the pool have lots of options among multiple decks. As on the Disney Wish and Disney Treasure, there are six main pools spread around between decks and spaces on decks 11 and 12. These pools offer various sizes and depths, giving guests a chance to have different experiences around the deck space. There is also no lack of entertainment, as throughout the day, guests can enjoy the Funnel Vision, a huge LED display showing Disney movies, TV shows, live sporting events, and more. There is another family pool, more removed from the hustle and bustle, on deck 14.

3 – Mickey and Friends Festival of Foods

The fun doesn’t need to stop when it’s mealtime. On deck 11, guests can find Mickey and Friends Festival of Foods, the perfect place for families to grab a quick bite for lunch, dinner, or anytime in between. The best part is that since it’s outside on the pool deck, there’s no need to change out of your swimsuit. You’ll also enjoy beautiful ocean views! There is also a great variety of foods to choose from, including Mickey’s Smokestack Barbecue, Donald’s Cantina, Daisy’s Pizza Pies, Goofy’s Grill, and Sweet Minnie’s Ice Cream. We’ve dined at all of these and love them all. All of the stalls are inspired by seaside boardwalk setting featured in popular “Mickey Mouse” animated shorts, a fitting addition to the Mickey and Friends-themed family district on the upper decks.

Toy Story-themed Waterplay District

Younger guests have their own Toy Story-themed waterplay district designed for toddlers and young children.

5 – Toy Story Splash Zone

In the Toy Story Splash Zone, children can have a lot of fun with Woody, Buzz, and friends, who are adorably reimagined as larger-than-life rubber bath toys that move and spray water. The area is inspired by the Disney and Pixar short “Partysaurus Rex.” This bathtub-themed splash zone combines the Old West of Woody’s Roundup with the intergalactic world of Buzz Lightyear, featuring two toddler-sized slides and pop jets, geysers, and bubblers galore.

6 – Slide-a-Saurus Rex

Kids will also love Slide-a-saurus Rex, a double-looping waterslide that plunges guests “down the drain” with the rest of the toys when the bathtub overflows. This is a must-do for families with young children.

7 – And More

Finally, guests can also enjoy Trixie’s Falls, a six-inch-deep wading pool with a small fountain and waterfall, and Wheezy’s Freezies, a smoothie bar serving refreshing fruit blends for the perfect cool-down treat.

Fun in the Sun for Adults

Guests ages 18 and older can also find their own spaces for quiet and relaxation on the upper decks.

8 – Quiet Cove and Cove Bar

The main offering is Quiet Cove, a secluded adults-only district dedicated to lounging, sipping, and soaking. The area is set far from the hustle and bustle of the main pool area and offers amazing panoramic ocean views from its decks and infinity pool. There are plenty of lounge chairs so guests can relax. Cove Bar, an open-air watering hole offering beer, wine, and cocktails, means you don’t have to go far to enjoy a poolside drink or two.

Cove Bar

9 – Cove Café

Another spot, even more secluded, is Cove Café, which offers gourmet coffee, teas, and specialty treats throughout the day. It’s like your favorite local coffee shop landed inside the Disney Destiny. Be sure to stop by to see the Moana-themed decorated space.

Chad & Cindy Nykamp

After years of multiple Walt Disney World vacations, Cindy and Chad's dream of living in Orlando came true in 2010. After friends and family made them their go-to-people for Walt Disney World advice, Cindy and Chad launched DisneyLists.com in August 2015 to share their knowledge and love of Disney. Chad and Cindy have been Disney World Annual Passholders for years, DVC members, together have raced more than 70 runDisney races, and particularly love cruising on the Disney Cruise Line. Chad and Cindy also regularly represent DisneyLists.com at Walt Disney World and Disney Cruise Line media events. While attending these events, they get an insiders view of all the new things that have come to Walt Disney World and Disney Cruise Line. These experiences have helped them gain knowledge and expertise they happily pass on to their followers. They still can't believe how lucky they are to have such an amazing opportunity and will continue to share Disney with anyone who will listen!
