NEWS: Disney Reveals Completely Redesigned Pop Century Resort

There is a lot to love about Pop Century Resort at Walt Disney World. While Pop Century is technically a value resort, we’d think it would be better described as value plus. Pop Century is in a fantastic location with quick access to three of the four parks, Disney Springs, and Wide World of Sports. It’s also served by the Disney Skyliner which makes getting to Hollywood Studios and Epcot a breeze. Add to this list the fact that Pop Century just got a major makeover and this resort should jump up to the top of the list for anyone looking for the convenience and value of this resort category.

Check out how great the newly refreshed Pop Century Resort looks!

Here are all the details from cast member Javier Soto:

There is something instantly cheerful about Disney’s Pop Century Resort. Bold color, playful details, and nostalgic winks to decades past spark joy for the young and the young-at-heart.

With the resort’s recent refreshes coming together throughout the lobby, Petals Pool Bar, and refreshed rooms, the experience feels even brighter and more “Pop” than ever.

Celebrate the Decades with New Lobby Details

The first thing you’ll notice when you step into the newly reimagined lobby is how bright and energetic the space is, with plenty of spots to pause, take everything in, and snap a photo before you head out for your Disney day.

New touches include vibrant floor-to-ceiling artwork inspired by pop culture from the 1950s-1990s and larger-than-life illustrations of Disney’s Fab Five. The decades come alive through bold patterns and graphics like the TV wall, a collection of vintage-style television frames that creates a delightfully retro backdrop.

The refresh also made the space work better for today’s guests. To create more room to relax while waiting to check in or head out, the teams behind the magic reconfigured part of the lobby and added more seating, including communal tables that give guests more places to sit, recharge or get a little work done.

“One of our biggest goals was making the lobby feel brighter, more vibrant and more functional for Guests,” said Luis Sanchez, project manager on the Facility Asset Management team. “We looked at everything from the lighting to the seating layout so the space feels more open and comfortable — and supports the look and feel Disney Imagineers envisioned.”

While the design grabs your attention, the welcome is what makes it feel like Disney. Whether you’re ready to start your vacation or figuring out where to go next, cast members are right there to help you settle in, answer quick questions, and make arrival feel effortless.

Cool Off at Petals Pool Bar

Petals Pool Bar has always been a bright spot at the Hippy Dippy Pool, and newly refreshed finishes make it the perfect pit stop for a mid-day break between splashes. Up close, tile details add texture and color behind the bar, and clear digital menu boards make ordering simple.

The space also received refreshed finishes and thoughtful updates that make ordering easier and the overall experience more comfortable for both guests and cast members.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a great pool day without the people who keep it running smoothly. Cast members bring the friendly, upbeat service that makes Petals Pool Bar a fan-favorite, offering quick recommendations and helpful answers so you can stay in vacation mode.

Recharge With Refreshed Rooms

After a full day of fun, the refreshed rooms offer a bright and comfy space to kick back and relax.

Disney Imagineers brought Pop Century’s playful, decade-inspired style into the refreshed rooms through a brighter palette and layered textures — with warm, wood-toned flooring and a geometric inset area with pops of blue, gray, green, and orange, and soft sky-blue accents near the bed wall and bathroom.

Refreshed curtains and patterned upholstery add extra personality, with subtle touches — including Hidden Mickeys in the chair fabric — that keep the space feeling unmistakably Disney while still clean, comfortable, and functional.

A Nostalgic Pop of Color at Pop Century

Disney’s Pop Century Resort is a time capsule of pop culture through the decades, where guests can walk past larger-than-life icons of yesteryear, from Rubik’s cubes to Play-Doh containers. The resort’s Everything POP Shopping & Dining has always been a hub of vibrant energy, and now, with a fresh color scheme and bold new seating areas, it’s even more inviting.

According to Disney Imagineering, the updates to Everything POP were inspired by the resort’s bold exterior. “Taking point from the over-the-top and colorful outdoor elements, we worked on making the inside of the resort as fun as the outside!” one shared.

This vision extends to every corner of the redesign, creating an experience that’s just as lively as the resort’s iconic larger-than-life icons. “We’re revisiting these decades in a fresh, fun, and very ‘Disney’ way. Throughout the renovation, we made sure to keep the visuals engaging and energetic, creating a joyful, family-friendly experience.”

Beyond the refreshed look, a brand-new coffee shop is also joining the lineup, offering specialty beverages that are sure to perk up guests throughout the day.

Countless Reasons to Stay in the Magic

One of the best parts of a Disney Resort hotel stay is the support that’s built into the experience, including how easy it is to get where you’re going. At Disney’s Pop Century Resort, you’re just steps away from access to the Disney Skyliner, making it simple to travel to EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

And when it’s time for the rest — finding your way, choosing a meal, figuring out transportation, or getting a question answered — cast members are always ready to help keep your day moving smoothly.

Staying at a Disney Resort hotel also comes with conveniences that make vacation days feel simpler from start to finish, like early theme park entry. For even more convenience, the Airport Luggage Transfer at Disney pilot lets eligible guests staying at select Disney Resort hotels transfer luggage to and from Orlando International Airport when flying with participating airlines.

However you “do” Pop Century — park days, pool days, or a little of both — these refreshed spaces are ready to welcome you with plenty of personality, comfort, and signature Disney service throughout.
