Top 7 Can’t Miss Street Performances at Disney World

As if the attractions, characters, and beautiful scenery offered at Disney World wasn’t enough – Disney throws incredible Street Performers into the mix! Here is our list of top 7 can’t miss Street Performers throughout Disney World.

1 – Main Street Philharmonic @ Magic Kingdom

Stealing the number one spot on our list is the Main Street Philharmonic at Magic Kingdom. Performing at both Main Street U.S.A. and in Fantasyland (near Storybook Circus), take time to catch this band in their marching gear as they play some fantastic tunes. Main Street Philharmonic is known as Disney’s legendary band and seems to be a rite of passage for all Disney fanatics! Most performances take place on Main Street U.S.A., but if you are lucky you may catch them over by Storybook Circus once or twice a day. Drums, trumpets, trombones, tubas, and more – seeing this band is one of those exciting, heartwarming memories that won’t be forgotten.

2 – Tam Tam Drummers of Harambe @ Animal Kingdom

You can try all you want, but there is no way you can walk past this African drumming performance without shaking those hips even in the slightest way! Located in the African Harambe Marketplace area in Animal Kingdom (just outside of Tusker House Restaurant), you can’t miss the awesome Tam Tam Drummers. Their colorful clothing, eccentric personalities, and catching rhythm transport Disney guests to a true African celebration. Catch them during the morning hours.

3 – Dapper Dans @ Magic Kingdom

Just look for the circling crowd on Main Street U.S.A. at Magic Kingdom and you’ll spot the Dapper Dans, an entertaining barbershop quartet that will stop you in your tracks! Vibrant pin stripped outfits and hats with great humor to go along with it – these guys know how to put on a show. Of course, their incredible voices take the stage (or street) above all else! The sing Disney favorites and more such as Zip-a-Dee Doo Dha, Cruella de Vil, and Yankee Doodle Dandy. You just might spot them with their Deagan Organ Chimes as their instrument of choice. Don’t miss this one as they usually perform throughout the early morning hours and just after lunch.

4 – JAMMitors @ Epcot

Janitors… we mean JAMMitors… with cleaning utensils as their instruments?! Sure, sounds odd enough – but that’s why it’s on our can’t miss list! These guys rock as they strut around Future World East in Epcot in their janitor uniforms and set the beat with trash cans and buckets. You can catch them an hour or so after park opening and they are typically on schedule to appear until 3pm with short 10 minutes shows roughly every hour. Who knew a plunger could make for a great drum stick?

5 – Sergio @ Epcot

Make a stop at Italy in Epcot’s World Showcase and be prepared to spot a performed like no other we’ve seen! Sergio is a crowd pleaser with his incredible mime skills and ridiculous juggling abilities. This is a street performer you’ll remember and be looking for during your next trip to Disney! Check Sergio’s performance times which are usually after the lunch hour through roughly 7pm. He performs for 20 minutes per show, but we promise it will feel more like 5 minutes as time flies during his fun and awe inspiring performance.

6 – Citizens of Hollywood @ Hollywood Studios

Putting the ‘Hollywood’ in Hollywood Studios – don’t miss the Citizens of Hollywood’s entertaining skits! This improv street performance engages onlookers in a hilarious and pun filled ways. The Citizens of Hollywood look exactly as you would expect a citizen of Hollywood to look during the Golden Era. The only catch to this crew is their spontaneous schedule! They are typically hanging out on Sunset Blvd or Hollywood Blvd and usually perform between 10:30am-4:00pm. If you see them, be sure to find a close spot to catch the show… you may just be selected to participate in their hilarious performance!

7 – Mariachi Cobre @ Epcot

If you find yourself in Mexico at Epcot’s World Showcase, you may just happen to come across one superb mariachi band! Mariachi Cobre is by far one of the most vibrant and talented bands we’ve heard. They perform for roughly 25 minutes typically between 11:30am and 5pm. Hopefully, you don’t experience our same problem we do, as every time we hear them perform we find ourselves craving Mexican food and a margarita! But that’s ok – conveniently quick service and table service Mexican food is available right next to the band, plus a margarita stand!

There are SO many incredible street performers on Disney property. Look for them at the theme parks, Disney Springs, and Boardwalk. These may be our top 7 can’t miss street performances, but we’d love to hear what street performers you would add to the list!

Matt & Kim

We have had a long time love affair with Disney. We love the magic and the memories we've made at Walt Disney World! We follow all things Disney and have great experiences with being Annual Passholders, Disney Vacation Club Members, and RunDisney participants. From lodging to dining to Genie+ we have a spreadsheet for every occasion. Usually there isn’t a day that passes without some discussion of the master plan of our next trip to the happiest place on earth. Most people think we’re normal – until they travel to Disney with us.
