Disney’s Epcot From A to Z

“Remember how easy it was to learn your ABC’s? Thank the Phoenicians—they invented them.” This famous Spaceship Earth line couldn’t be more perfect for this article! We are running through Epcot from A to Z and listing all our favorites along the way. Some are new, some are old, and some have yet to arrive… but that’s what makes Epcot such an exciting topic right now. Check out our A to Z below and let us know if you’ve come up with others along the way!

A – Awesome Planet

From the roaring seas to the mountain tops and everything in between, we truly do live on an awesome planet! Head on over to The Land pavilion to see the beauty of this wonderful planet we call home. Awesome Planet is a new Circle-Vision film that features the “beauty, diversity, and dynamic story of our earth.” As you’d suspect, Disney took no shortcuts in making this film with outstanding photography and theater effects that put guests in the heart of the film.

B – Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along

If you hear some not-so-splendid singing coming from the France Pavilion, it’s likely us as we sing our hearts out along to the new France film, Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along! While the France Pavilion remains home to Impressions de France, the two films will rotate throughout the day to appease all France goers’ preferences. Take a seat, get your singing voice ready, and enjoy a new twist to the Beauty and the Beast storyline.

C – Characters

While visiting Epcot, you’ll have the opportunity to meet so many different and unique Disney characters. In World Showcase, you’ll find many different Disney princesses, Donald in his Mexican attire, and even Pooh Bear! You’ll also be able to meet with some Joy from Inside Out and Figment in the Imagination! Pavilion.

D – Dreamer’s Point

In the words of Walt Disney,If you can dream it, you can do it.” So, what better way to dream than to experience Dreamer’s Point coming to Epcot? Imagineers are in the process of designing and building a space in World Celebration (near the Spaceship Earth icon) portion of the park. This space will pay homage to Walt Disney with a statue of him. We’re looking forward to stunning views, gardens, a wishing tree, and an interactive fountain.

E – Entrance Plaza

The newly redesigned EPCOT entrance plaza welcomes guests with open pathways and sweeping green spaces that beautify the entryway. Bridging the past, present, and future of EPCOT is a new fountain at the base of Spaceship Earth with three majestic pylons. The entrance plaza also features new lighting and music, as well as flags flanking the fountain featuring six original EPCOT icons.

F – Four Festivals

The four Festivals of Epcot are some of the most popular special events in all of Walt Disney World.

  • Epcot’s International Festival of Arts (mid-January – late February)
  • Epcot’s International Flower & Garden Festival (early March-early July)
  • Epcot’s International Food & Wine Festival (mid-July – late November)
  • Epcot’s International Festival of the Holidays (late November – late December)

Each Festival highlights the theme with entertainment, food, drinks, and experiences! These festivals are included with general park admission, but you can expect extra costs for the food, drinks, and specialty seminars and classes.

G – Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind

Who’s ready for a reverse launch into space? Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind is a state-of-the-art rollercoaster that will have us all launching into space…Guardians of the Galaxy style! This coaster is unlike any other, as guests rotate to focus on the action. Click here for our review and what you need to know!

H – Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie

In the France Pavilion, Les Halles is an incredible bakery to stop in and enjoy some delicious treats. Traditionally made, there are a ton of items to choose from, like the Éclairs, Macaroons and Napoleons.

I – ImageWorks – The “What If” Labs

As you exit the Journey Into Imagination with Figment attraction, you’ll enter the ImageWork – “What If” Labs. Let your imagination go as you’re surrounded by fun games and experiences that touch on music, colors, and sound. This is a great place to spread out and enjoy the air-conditioning, especially if you have little ones with you.

J – Journey of Water, Inspired by “Moana”

World Nature is one of the new neighborhoods at EPCOT. Here, you have a chance to experience the movement of water in an attraction inspired by Moana. The attraction is now open! Click here to learn more!

K – Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe

This “K” is a delicious one! Kringla, located in Epcot’s Norway Pavilion, is one of the most popular bakeries in all of Walt Disney World, which speaks volumes for the yummy bites you can find here. The most popular item is the School Bread, though anything you try will make you ready to return for more.

L – La Crêperie de Paris

The France Pavilion is THE pavilion everyone will want to be at! As if the Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along mentioned above and Remy’s attraction mentioned below aren’t enough, France has a new eatery called La Crêperie de Paris. Savory and sweet crepes are the highlights here amidst a menu for both quick-service and table-service experiences. The crepes are delicious!

M – Mission: SPACE

It’s time to blast off to space on the Mission: SPACE attraction! If you’re ready for some major g-forces and thrills, check out the Orange Mission. Orange will have you heading to Mars. For those looking for a tamer experience, the Green Mission is for you as you orbit Earth. Astronauts prepare for liftoff!

N – Nemo

He’s orange, has a lucky fin, and touched the “butt” (aka boat) … it’s NEMO! Epcot is home to the classic attraction “The Seas with Nemo and Friends.” Board a clamshell as you move slowly through an outstanding aquarium filled with aquatic friends – including Nemo! It’s a colorful and awe-inspiring ride through the Big Blue.

O – Olaf in Frozen Ever After

Step inside the Frozen film in the Frozen Ever After attraction. You’ll instantly be greeted by everyone’s favorite snowman, Olaf! Enjoy the boat ride as you see the animatronics come to life, including Olaf and all the Frozen friends.

P – Pavilions in World Showcase

There are eleven different pavilions in World Showcase that celebrate the host countries’ culture, cuisine, architecture, and traditions. Explore Canada, United Kingdom, France, Morocco, Japan, The American Adventure!, Italy, Germany, China, Norway, and Mexico.

Q – Queen of Hearts’ Enemy (Alice!)

Shh… don’t tell the Queen of Hearts, but her greatest enemy hangs out at Epcot frequently! That’s right, Alice from Alice in Wonderland visits the United Kingdom Pavilion, where she’s available for meet and greets at select times throughout the day – weather permitting.

R – Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure

Remy, the little rat Chef from the film Ratatouille, has scurried into Epcot’s France Pavilion in a big way! In this family-friendly attraction, guests feel as if they shrink to the size of Chef Remy and scurry through Gusteau’s famous restaurant. Guests board colorful rat-shaped vehicles and then don 3D glasses to begin their adventure, seeing everything from a “rat’s-eye view.” Imagineers worked with Pixar artists to create animated 3D scenes that feel as if the film has come to life right before guests’ eyes, blending with oversized sets to provide an immersive environment full of sights, sounds, smells, and other effects celebrating “Ratatouille.”

S – Spaceship Earth

“S” must go to Epcot’s icon – Spaceship Earth. To us, the massive, white “golf ball” is a sign that we’re home! With the reimaging of Epcot, we are happy that Disney is keeping the structure of Spaceship Earth. The planned reimagining of this iconic attraction has been postponed indefinitely.

T – Test Track

Have a seat and buckle up! With the Test Track attraction, guests get to design a car and then see how it compares to other designs while riding along for the test. Most of the track is turning, swerving, and stop and go… but it ends with a speed test around an outdoor track. You’ll feel the wind in your hair in your convertible car as you speed around the track. Go ahead and put your hands up and enjoy the ride!

U – United Kingdom

Of the eleven pavilions around the World Showcase, one of our favorites is the United Kingdom. There is plenty to see and taste in the United Kingdom. Rose and Crown Pub & Restaurants boasts fantastic waterfront views and refreshing sips. You can also shop your way through this pavilion with some great boutiques. With character meet and greets during the day and live music at night, the United Kingdom is a happening pavilion.

V – Voices of Liberty

Ever had one of those moments when it feels like your goosebumps have goosebumps? If not, make your way to the American Adventure Pavilion, where you’ll find Voices of Liberty. This acapella group sings beautiful patriotic and modern-day songs. This is one of our Epcot must-do’s each and every trip.

W – WORLD – Celebration, Nature, Discovery, and Showcase

Future World has been retired, and Epcot now consists of four neighborhoods: World Celebration, World Nature, World Discovery, and World Showcase. We are all familiar with the World Showcase, but the split of Future World into Celebration, Nature, and Discovery is very new and exciting. Each area holds different elements that “speak to important aspects of the world and its people.” We can’t wait to see how this unfolds!

X – “X” Marks the Spots with DuckTales

Disney’s DuckTales World Showcase Adventure is now available in Epcot. Using the Play Disney Parks App, guests can search for clues throughout the World Showcase to help find treasure! While using the app, you’ll unlock clues that will set off objects around you in real-time as a response to your game playing. DuckTales characters will help in your treasure hunt along the way.

Y – Years to Come

Of course, visiting Epcot today and tomorrow is a definite YES! The reimagining of EPCOT is still underway, and more new and exciting changes are coming. Most of these projects should be completed by the end of 2023.

Z – Ziploc – Kidcot Stations

Are kids tired of being dragged around the World Showcase? Well, Ziploc has a way to keep them entertained! Check out the Kidcot Stations located within each of the eleven Pavilions. Here you’ll find a Ziploc “suitcase” (bag), stickers, and country info card free of charge. As you travel the World, you can place a sticker on your suitcase and store the country information card inside the bag. It’s a fun way to keep the kids on the lookout for the next Kidcot Station.

From A to Z…, a lot is happening in Epcot now and in the near future. We hope you’re able to experience all of the above!

We follow all things Disney and have great experiences with being Annual Passholders, Disney Vacation Club Members, and RunDisney participants. From lodging to dining to Genie+ we have a spreadsheet for every occasion. Usually there isn’t a day that passes without some discussion of the master plan of our next trip to the happiest place on earth. Most people think we’re normal – until they travel to Disney with us.
